Looks like we're getting the All-Star Game in 2020
Well it’s about damn time
The game here is gonna be a traffic nightmare.
Brandon McCarthy dislocated his shoulder catching a throw while running to first base. Sad part about this is I’m not kidding
Hey, check it out!!! AJ Ellis almost actually hit something!
Hate to laugh at another man's pain but....
what in the fuck wood? Giving up hits to AL pitchers, for fucks sake stop sucking
The maximum results the LAD can achieve is a split.
Or not get swept.
The new elite.
One of the worst written articles i’ve ever seen. Stupid premise too.
Too bad Ellis didn’t get his ass kicked.
Agreed -- that's terrible composition, from diction to execution to denouement. What a clusterhump.
This article is what passes for journalism these days.
At least it did illustrate that Ellis did what a traditional catcher would do when his pitcher is rushed by an opposing player.
Brings to mind Posey and his actions, or lack thereof, in the same situation.

MLB TRADE RUMORS
Dodgers were “seriously engaged” in talks with O’s for Manny Machado
by Daniel Starkand | Dodger Blue — 7 hours ago
One development that was a bit surprising this past offseason was the Baltimore Orioles reportedly were shopping franchise shortstop Manny Machado in trade talks.
It is unknown how far discussions with other clubs got, and Machado is still in Baltimore as the season is now underway. One reason for their willingness to include Machado in trade talks is the Orioles again aren’t expected to compete for a World Series or make a serious playoff run.
Additionally, Machado is on track to become a free agent this winter, in a class that may also include the likes of Bryce Harper and Clayton Kershaw.
Whether via trade this season or free agency, it appears Machado’s time with the Orioles may be coming to an end. Should the talented infielder reach the open market, he’s expected to sign one of the most lucrative contracts in Major League history.
On the trade front, the Los Angeles Dodgers reportedly were involved in talks with the Orioles at some point either during the offseason or more recently, per Jon Heyman of Today’s Knuckleball:
"The Dodgers were another of the nine teams said by a source to have seriously engaged the Orioles in trade talk, though it’s possible those talks didn’t take place until after Justin Turner went down."
With Corey Seager at shortstop and Justin Turner at third base, there isn’t an easy fit for Machado in Los Angeles, although that wouldn’t be a bad problem to have. The three-time All-Star has said in the past he wants to play shortstop, which would have made for a crowded infield once Justin Turner is off the disabled list.
The Dodgers didn’t spend any money this past offseason in order to get below the luxury tax threshold in 2018. That’s going to allow them to reset their penalty rate and put the franchise in a stronger position to pursue the likes of Harper, Kershaw or Machado.
While the Dodgers didn’t trade for Machado during the offseason, it is possible that talks of him potentially landing in Los Angeles are not over.
As if Turner should impact the potential addition of a 25 yr old superstar in his prime
Move Turner's old ass to 1B, or shit, trade him back to Baltimore where he began..whatever
Damn well better be interested in a Machado, and in continuing to build a young nucleus of top tier talent like the Astros have..especially since Machado's salary is manageable right now
The faint promise, then, of a new saviour, arises from the haze of a distant horizon...now it is Manny the Redeemer?
I wonder just exactly what that says about what the FO thinks of Seager precisely? Or the seriousness of his "injury"? Hmmmmm...
No matter actually, since it is just some more negotiations that although make a mildly interesting diversion of what might have been, went down the tubes like so many others that come to light after the fact.
Let the Manny lineups begin!
Wow.... Jon Heyman is reporting that after the 2007 season when ARod opted out of his deal he obviously took a new Yankees deal, but what was not known was that it was the second highest offer on the table.... The Dodgers were in fact the team with the highest offer in the range of $320M. That deal would have been catastrophic almost immediately, but I can't help but wonder what could have happened in 2008 and 2009 with him in the lineup. Likely don't sign Manny to that deal, but maybe still make that trade? Who knows, but talk about dodging a bullet.
It was Boras, but I seem to remember this rumor floating around at the time and everyone was like, "no fucking way". Even with his suspension, the Manny deal was significantly better for the club in hindsight... Also while reviewing the rosters, FUCK ANDRUW JONES.
I have a feeling that the Dodgers were just doing their due diligence since a trade like this doesn't only massively shake up the roster/lineup potentially, but the clubhouse as well. MM is not known for being the best teammate AND he wanted to play SS this season going into FA. Turner and Seager are minimally versatile, but it is hard to believe that at this point, the org is at all interested in moving Cody back to the OF. Turner has looked good since the knee surgery, so maybe the club was considering a go of him at 2B instead. Other thing could have been asking Manny to take the reins at 2B, though a waste of some of his talent he'd probably be well suited for the position. He is an interesting player to target if he was willing to consider an extension off the bat, but if he says no way you can't justify throwing multiple Top 50 prospect(IMO) in that deal, so that is potentially one of the Dodgers top three prospects going back, which is probably nowhere close to the return that the Orioles expect. The Yankees going below the threshold is too scary a hurdle in the offseason ahead to throw multiple prospects at a guy who could leave at the end of the season, especially one where you may also need a new frontline starter.
