  2. Front line starter (degrom, thor, et al)

Yeah, right past the prime of the best pitcher in the last 30 years!

Look, it's no secret what their marching orders are this year but if they have such a lack of creativity and talent to do anything at all, then they really are FUCKTARDS!

Orioles have stepped up negotiations the last 48 hours... BUT, let's remember we have heard this all before and then talks suddenly went quiet. This corresponds with two new teams entering the fray and after what was reported the other day(teams thinking they had a deal until they didn't), this sure feels like deja vu. It really sounds like the O's are pulling their regular shit that drives other teams absolutely mad and that one of the new teams in the fracas is jumping the gun thinking they have close to a deal. Nightengale is reporting that as of last night, the Dodgers still had the strongest offer on the table and that executives around the league hear they are still the likely favorites.... so congrats to #MysteryTeam that will eventually land Machado.

i honestly think he gets off on this shit
can't compete with the yankees and chowds so this is his only way to get his team any attention and feel important
fucken old motherfucker needs to get with the program and do what most old fuckers his age do...
drink cheap whiskey, get belligerent on a baseball forum, and then jerk off to midget porn

These rumors are going to continue for a couple more days as the ASB is officially upon Machado and the Orioles whom are expected to have Manny suit up at least one more time before shipping him off. Dodgers are said to be keeping close tabs on Scooter Gennett and Brian Dozier. If the Manny deal does not work, they are expected to pivot quickly to one of those two.

I'd strongly prefer Machado over any other player, not just cause he's a great hitter but also cause getting a shortstop makes more sense for the team than getting a 2B (we have more players who can play 2B than SS, and it makes dealing with Muncy a bit more difficult).

I also don't think Scooter gets traded... But I am pretty intrigued by Dozier. He's super risky, but he has a history of average first half of the year followed by an unreal second half. It's hard to tell if this will continue (although his July has been amazing), but he might turn into a steal. I'll say this: I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Dozier is a better hitter in August and September compared to Machado.

Kiké Hernandez, Max Muncy, and Matt Kemp each have almost the same (or more) HRs than Cody Bellinger. The guy who is supposed to be our 4 hitter. I know BA has fallen out of favor (and I mostly agree), but .240 is abysmal. Cannot rely on someone like that when it matters most. Definitely need to add someone who can rake

"Only in Hollywood" on the MLB Network last night didn't disappoint.

What a magical season. Reading the names on the back of those uniforms.......Hamilton, Woodson, Stubbs, Sharperson, Dempsey. These guys had no business winning it all. And Orel truly was the Bulldog.

Interesting how Gibson how changed the culture of the locker room. Also interesting to see how he's mellowed with age. Just 61, but he sounds and looks much older (Parkinson's).

Like with Gibson, there was a definite and immediate shift in the attitude of the team the first game Chase played in. I remember talking to the devil about it and he felt it too.

haven't watched it yet, but what a magical season
was lucky enough to play in dodger stadium (against the aaa guys) that february, right after gibby signed
got to see him and some of the other guys take bp
never seen someone take bp so seriously...
every swing had a purpose, using every field, and (was the only one who) mixed a bunt in here or there
i remember lasorda taking him a ball to sign a ball for one of our injured players -- cornelius foster, nephew of george
gibby snapped "i don't do autographs"
we were all like "oh shit"
but lasorda, in his fatherly way, eventually persuaded gibby to do it
say what you want about gibson...
but i have never, in my life, seen an entire team collectively lifted by one person before or since
those guys (especially the stuntmen -- hatcher, heep, woodson, dempsey) loved gibby and, using the adage, would have taken a bullet for the guy
i consider myself very fortunate to have witnessed it, because it's really difficult to convey to others just how special it was
