Of course they have the pieces.....it just doesn't make sense to give up a Stripling or a Behuler to get DeGrom.

All signs point to them waiting for one team to budge and enter overpay territory.... then something will pop up on medicals and we will be back to square one....

I duno.....if the current offer is Dustin May and Gavin Lux, then names like Keibert and Santana might move the needle

Keith Law and Buster Olney both are under the impression that the Yankees are not all that of a serious destination and that the O's are dropping their name into the ring to get the Brewers and Dodgers to up their offers. It definitely makes sense, I would have a hard time seeing the Rockies trading us Arenado or the Pads sending us Myers if it made us World Series favorites.

If Arenado keeps talking about how he hates them losing......they may end up trading him. Be nice to see a Lake Forrest kid back in LA Blue!!!

    • Left-hander Julio Urias took another significant step forward in his recovery from major shoulder surgery more than a year ago. Urias began throwing to hitters in live batting practice sessions as part of his workouts at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Ariz. “I heard it went really well,” Roberts said, adding that Urias’ velocity was 88 to 92 mph during the session.

With every game that they almost let get away, i'm thinking it should be more about relievers (yes, likely more than one). While Floro has been very encouraging, they could probably use one from each side.

Floro was throwing some straight filth last night(if that continues, holy shit) and Alexander looks to have rounded back into form(Myers is just insanely locked in right now, that was not a bad pitch that he smoked last night). I am in the same boat as you, I think they need to target two arms that they would have no problem giving the ball to in the 9th to close a game out. I still would like to see them add a bat to man 2B/SS as well, but the priority should be 2 high leverage arms.

No confidence in Fields and Cingrani? IF Buehler has a great start someone has to be moved from the rotation into the pen, maybe Alex only because of the 3rd time through the line-up difficulties. I know they've thrown around having a 6 man rotation.

Cingrani has to show me he is healthy before I get back to feeling comfortable with him. Like beginning of the season Cingrani? Great. Whatever he was after that? Hell no. Fields is a big giant fuck no for me. Even if he comes back guns blazing, he is a MR for me that should not have the ball in high leverage situations. His knack for FB's sitting middle-middle when he starts to ramp things up will never be ok with me.

I think Fields get a little bit of a bad rap but I get his penchant for giving up fly balls is scary. His lack of success last year at the end was due to me in large part of him being used too much especially back to back with Petey. As for Cingrani yeah I get he has to show health but Honey has been a great influence on him and I still like him. I'm more worried about Huddy ESPECIALLY after last night even though he was hot. Walking the 1st guy you face especially a weak hitter in Hedges is a HUGE pet peeve of mine and I'm sure all baseball fans.

Their are too many guys non-contending teams that should be able to upgrade considerably on what they currently have (which isn't very good), their are like 8 guys on CIN/SD/MIA alone and i'm not including Iglesias or Brad Hand.

Rosenthal is reporting the Dodgers and Yankees still have the best offers on the table. The Brewers are fading and now the Phillies have stepped up their pursuit/offer, but is still believed to be lagging behind the Dodgers/Yanks.
