If the Dodgers could acquire one player at the deadline, who would you prefer?

  1. Machado

    43.5%
  2. Front line starter (degrom, thor, et al)

    56.5%

Yep, maybe closing the odd game if Kenley has thrown 3 of 4, other than that just a 7th/8th inning role. He's been effective since may 1st and more than that, he's cheap, only owed ~$2M the rest of the season.

i like puig, i really do
but joc isn't nearly as likely to run you out of an inning or throw to the wrong base/miss the cutoff man

    stats.....April 2018 - BA 288. May 2018 - BA 211. June 2018 - BA 283. July 2018 - BA 195

That is just this year. The last 3 years have been this kind of roller-coaster.

I din't see any mention of staying under the 197 million threshold in that Nosler article. The team is not GOING OVER that amount. That is the HUGE elephant in the room for ALL trades. Someone making decent coin has to be traded too. :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

they used to say he was the roughest guy in bb.
Also, that's why Marichal used the bat.

I'd take Yelich and Cain over either of them. Solid all around hitters and defenders. Off topic, yes. Racist, yes.

I think a day or so ago AF was on ESPN 710 and eluded to the fact that they could move OF players for relief.

Also remember there are incentives that are not going to get met like Kershaws Cy Young incentive for 1st - 3rd ($500K), Forsythe's $2.5MM plate appearances which start at 550, Ryu has an innings pitched incentive of $250K for each miles stone starting at 170 innings.....so there is $1MM there. There are also performance bonuses for Kohler/Utlen/Hudson that probably amount to $200K. Finally there is the big one in Maeda. He will probably reach his games started for $1M for 20 games and $1.5M for 25 games (im assuming playoffs count). But the $3MM total for hitting 30 and 32 he wont reach. Then there is the innings bonus where he gets $250 for each 10 innings after 90. I would guess he only gets to 130 innings this year which is another $1.250MM, and he loses out on another $1.5MM for innings through 190 and $750 for 200 innings.

So all that to say, because of injuries the team looks like they have saved almost $6MM, which is about what remains on Manny's contract.
