Offensively, the one big difference between the Dodgers and the '17/Astros and '18/RedSox is all the damn strikeouts. Those other clubs put the ball in play more often. So every time I see a guy like LeMahieu or Marwin linked to LAD, that's what I think of

 

Lol Bowden just predicted LAD would sign Harper a couple days ago. He's all over the place

That’s what it comes down to for me, anything else and I’ll be disappointed. That’s assuming Machado is gone.

 

He still thinks that the Dodgers are the best place for him, he just felt that the way this has been handled early is off for a Kasten led group.

 

Been putting Gennett in my pipe dream lineups for a while now. Hope it happens (it won't).

 

I had the busiest day of my year yesterday and while catching up on 12 hours of twitter, came across one person saying that he hears the Dodgers are still kicking around on Machado. Take it for what it is worth, but maybe if they miss out on Harper, they come back around on Machado. Not likely, but interesting to hear they could still have interest.

 

I honestly think his trade value is not that high, so IMO keeping him has much greater upside.

 

Did Bowden confirm a meeting in this too?
Last place we left off, iirc, we didn't know if the meeting between LAD officials and Harper actually took place....
We know Magic wasn't there, or that he's denying his part

 

From what I have seen, the meeting did take place, just that Magic was not actually there. There are a lot of folks that think that Harper wants to make the announcement at these meetings since it is in his hometown. He is not supposedly planning to tour cities that are interested in him like Machado is.

 

Well if Harper really wants to make this about Vegas, sign with the team closest to Vegas....

 

And it's also pretty sweet of MLB to park the winter meetings in his back yard. I have to assume MLB would love for Harper to sign during the meetings and to sign with a marquee WS contender like LAD as well

I meant to add to this, Zach Britton apparently has no interest in going somewhere that he will not be the designated closer unless someone absolutely blows the other offers out of the water. He feels his struggles with the Yankees were due to him not being used in a traditional manner. This is also rumored to be the case with Andrew Miller. There is growing belief in the industry that these almost yearly ups and downs in relievers is that this mixed use is causing more injuries for relievers.

It is sounding like according to J.P. Morosi that the Indians and Dodgers could be moving towards a deal that would include Alex Verdugo going back. I would not be shocked if this deal is paired with a wave of moves.

 

It is the Angels, but barely.

I've lived in Vegas though, it's Dodgers territory.

 

Probably won't be this next season, but the 2B picture is ultimately leading towards Lux. Will believe that until I start seeing Lux's name in these trade rumors

 

I'm doing that deal in a heart beat, I know it's not 1-for-1, but maybe a cost controlled arm (Stripling?) or another OF (Taylor or Kiké). However, trading more than one OF, would probably tell you they like their chances on Bryce or at least Pollock.
