I saw a quote that Hoornstra made about Yamamoto going to the Rams game. That fucking guy steps on his dick more than Trump in a trailer!

Dodgers Nation should run like hell from him... not that they've ever been even remotely credible in posting anything that wasn't days old.

there were multiple reports that Yamamoto was attending the Rams game with Ohtani. none of them came from JP or Dodgers nation. He was on the Rams celebrity guest list, it wasn't something made up, it was confirmed. Obviously something came up last minute (And we now know what it was), He was making his decision. and the Rams tweeting that picture/video is confirmation that he was supposed to be there and bailed at the last minute, for good reason.

not quite (2025). Prepare as if this is Buehler's last season as a Dodger, because it likely is unfortunately. 2025 the Dodgers are likely going to a 6 man rotation. I hope Kershaw factors into both of those years too
    Ohtani
    Yamamoto
    Glasnow
    Miller
    Sheehan
    Gonsolin/May/Stone/(hopefully Kershaw)

got ahead of myself and forgot about buehler’s status
    but you’re right he’s 99% gone
if he pitches well, he’ll likely sign elsewhere
and if he doesn’t, we won’t want him
too bad too, because dude was a beast for a short while
i like kersh sentimentality, so maybe later this year but i doubt 2025
i think gonsolin gets shipped because miller/sheehan/stone/grove will be better
    may is the wildcard
guy has some of the most unhittable stuff, but that violent delivery has/will cost him
I think he’s probably better suited as a reliever
imagine that… yamamoto/shohei/glasnow/miller/sheehan go 5-6 nightly, and you follow them with brusdar, kelly, may and phillips
shit, sign hader and any lead after 5 innings is safe

apologies if my ramblings don’t make perfect sense… our neighborhood got hammered last night by the rains, some of our neighbors lost their homes, and i was out last night making sure our compound was secure
working on 2 hours sleep, the excitement of the yamamoto signing, and about 4 fingers of jameson
flood alert until 10am, and i’m on lookout so the wife (who’s had even less sleep) can rest
    but it could be worse

Agreed across the board. Buehler is likely gone.

Also I SO want Kershaw back. Everyone can say what they want about his post-season struggles (very fair), but the dude is still pitching at ace levels when healthy. He isn't pitching until mid-season which should be great for his arm, and then I think the play is having him as a super reliever or number 3/4 starter in the post-season so he has no pressure. Big ego thing though and candidly I don't know how Kershaw would react to that or if the front office would even consider approaching him with that.

ALSO, maybe I'm just soft but it would be incredible for Kershaw to spend his entire career (hopefully 20 a la Kobe and the Lakers) with the Dodgers. I don't want to see that man in another uniform ever.

I'd sign up for a half a season of 2023 pre-injury Kershaw. Easy to forget how good he was in the first half.

I know every athlete's body takes different pounding and toll over the years, but it's difficult to see his high school buddy Matty Stafford seemingly having found the fountain of youth and then consider Kershaw as done. Maybe CK should take up tennis in the off-season too, but I think he still could have a couple more years in him if the innings are managed properly. And I'd imagine he still will be motivated to re-up another year or two given this winter's acquisitions.

or how (now) 35 y/o kersh has lost so much of his velo compared to a verlander who was still hitting 97/98

The increase in Sushi and Ramen sales will easily offset them.

I have had the sense for a while that Buehler will head out when he can. Dunno why but I just do. That, and the fact that he basically fucked us up for months by delaying the inevitable and not getting cut on half a season earlier would have meant he would have already been pitching last year when it mattered, but he didn't. Never sat well with me, kinda like Shaq's infamous quote about rehabbing on company time.
