Ehhh...you can still play well. Look a it this way, Tiger bulked up considerably as he started to dominate the field. Think of golf as your way to gain flexibility.

BUT, watch the back. The extra strength can rip your back apart because of the torso motion on your swing.

Trust me....one dischetomy later, every morning is a lottery about whether I will feel good or not.

Does anybody else think that True Detective (which I definitely enjoy) has a very similar thread and elements running through it as
were in "LA Confidential"? Even some "Chinatown"?
Dope, crooked cops, strongarm leg breaker types (Farrell/Crowe), crooked politicos, a plastic surgeon that cuts women to look better ("I make eights into tens"), land scams, etc.
Some good shit by Farrell there when he finds out maybe he was duped and killed someone that may have been totally innocent of raping his wife.
That little leprechaun learned how to really act.

Looking that way. I'm amazed at some of the intense hate from critics and people about Season II. I don't understand why. It's about political and police corruption in the city and state level, and that moves at a different pace than a true murder mystery like Season 1. Yes some of the dialog is too smart for its own good, and yes that singer in the bar makes me want to take my own life every time she sings, but the series has been pretty good thus far.

Take it this way, I thought Season 1 suffered through some of the same issues. The McConnaughey character was kind of a parody of himself (psychedelic pseudo philosophical stuff said in his Texas drawl), Harrelson playing Harrelson, and a kind of "been there, done that" story of weird, psycho, inbred, Southern rednecks up to no good.

It was good, but some of these critics kinda raise Season 1 to religious status which gives Season II really an unfair chance to be liked.

    people are idiots
most of those who don't like season 2 probably don't get it
plus there's a lot more characters this season so it took a while to develop them
i think farrell and vaughn are great
a lot of good random characters as well -- the chick cop's dad, rick springfield, the sleazy mayor...

It's also much more noir-y. Lots of dialogue. Although I hate Vince Vaughn's character, I think it's because everything he says is trying to be noir. In that sense, for me at least, it doesn't work.

Past episode was really good, though. Things are starting to move toward the end.

It's definitely about time Kelly Reilly (Frank's wife) is seen naked, but True Detective is no Game of Thrones.
Although Season I had Woody's girlfriend, who was beyond smoking.
    But it's time...
And how many think the "Cisco Kid" will show up again? Like Benny Blanco from da Bronx for Pacino ?

my brother and i were just talking about cisco kid, saying that the way it went down it wouldn't be the last we saw of him
i loved vaughn's response; "the door's in the same spot fellas."
more than kelly, i want to see rachel mcadams unclad

Legislators in teh south are considering a ban on all medicine and vitamins sold in plastic bottles.

They are concerned that some people might be offended or will even complain that racism and slavery are intentionally implied when they have to pick teh cotton out of teh bottles to get teh pills.

    Dood, listen to me.

Buy used. I never buy new. I bought a set of irons last summer (e-bay, bkitches) and after shipping paid $185. I'm lucky enough to be near Pinehurst and have a buddy that works at a local shop. He sometimes gets me deals like the brand new 50 degree wedge with the plastic wrap still on it for 75 bucks. He's currently looking for me a slightly used 3 wood. But to the point, don't pay full price for clubs...that's a rich man's game. The hot driver that sells for $599.95 this year will be on the used rack for $275.oo next year. And probably won't have a scratch on it.

Also, if you are still learning, Gebbeth knows what he's talking about. The Mizuno GPX series is very nice, powerful, and forgiving. The regular GPX is very good, while the GPX Pros are a little more exacting. I will agree to disagree with Gebbeth on drivers. Taylormade is my choice right now. I'm hitting a R11 and I love it. The only Titleist clubs I own are wedges, mostly sand wedges. Putters and wedges are personal feel, to be honest. Confidence is a huge part of the short game, experiment until you find something that feels good in your hands (then take your hands out of your pants).

Most important of all...HAVE FUN! It's a fucking game. Took me a couple of decades to learn that lesson.

    Help fast please.

I cannot tell if this is just the 7 iron or the complete Cleveland CG Black 2015 iron set for 114.99.

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OVTEXBS?ref_=zg_bs_384939011_40

If you change it from right to left if bumps up the price to around 600 dollars which leads me to believe that it is the complete set but it just sounds too good to be true for 115.

Actually that might be for the set.

    Fucking anti-Lefty racists.

Email the seller and ask them but looking at it again, I think it is for the set.

Passed on them, did a fair amount of reading on the reviews and it sounded as if these clubs are only meant to be played by old people or somebody who has a brutally slow swing.

    no
cleveland makes good wedges but average middle irons imo
i'd go with a more forgiving/easier to play club
i have titleists but i wouldn't necessarily recommend them for you
i've played a lot of years and have a little better feel -- i.e. i know the strengths and limitations of my game
i'd probably go with callaways or pings
    just my 2 cents

Wait, 5 through PW? Thats not even a full set. Not that you're going to use a 3-4 iron that much.

    Go with a rescue club or....dare I say, a 5 wood.

BTW, I love Taylormade's too, but the Pings I've tried just fly sraighter and longer for me. I've never had Calloway work for me.

Wedges....you just have to know your ranges. My set had the PW at 48 deg, I had a GW at 54, and a lob at 60, but truth be told, I rarely used my gap.

At the end of the day, dont be shy and demo a whole bunch of clubs. Its the only way you'll know for sure. And if you can get a decent set used, go that way. Unless they have been absused, irons amd putters are pretty durable. Check to see that the shafts are true and that the hosel isnt damaged or loose.

I might buy last years model drivers and fairway woods, but I've seen my fair share of shady used drivers. Those clubs tend to get more abuse if someone hits a bad tee shot, they sometimes take it out on the clubs, and with the longer, thinner shafts, many of which are graphite, you never know.
