Maybe you can join my herb selling empire.
Empires are best to get in on the ground floor.
Like all pyramids you gotta be base before you can get high.
And gosh darn it if im gonna be a slimey salesman its gonna be on my own terms on my home field with products i know and use.
And then ill feel ok with working all them slick angles like when i sold previously owned cars i took from junk and tow yards.
Or when i sold hearing aids to the elderly for over inflated prices. Felt like a scumbag but 20÷ commission at 5k a pop made me feel better for a lil bit.
Gonna be selling ayurveda to mexicans by changing the names of stuff from hindu to some customized chinook jargon that explains what the supplement does via pun. Mexicans love puns and i can punish them all the way to the bank. Or at least enough to keep me in sulfur and silver.
Hindus and Mexicans have a lot in common. Like cumin.
Ans everyone likes massages and they can grow to like hot mineral baths in stinky waters.
Then when they get loopy from the saunas i bust out the herbal powders and essential oils and put wind in their sales.

My wife thinks im joking around because i tend to do so a lot.
But im learning a lot as a volunteer out here in the desert with these chewy granola yoga types.
Its my own private apprenticeship and im already doing a lot of the creative work for them.
Mexicans already have the old custom of the curandero and herbalist ladies that just sell you tea and virgin of guadalupe candles.

    Gotta hustle for that burger.

    Good luck with that

I used to think that good people could always find good jobs

    now I know better

Too many good people are starting to feel that a 'good job' just isn't going to be in the cards
and I have precious little advice to offer
"pound the pavement and network ferociously"
sounds trite to someone who has sent out 150+ resumes this year
    without a single nibble

My son with a engineering degree showed me a job just this morning
for an "Associate Engineer" where they wanted a PHD as a minimum requirement

    WTF!! For an associate engineer??!?!?

I read stories about routine tech jobs getting 200+ resumes per week
and 80%+ who apply are qualified
dunno what to offer but "Good Luck" buddy

Yet there still not enough construction workers electricians and pipe fitters.
Maybe the degree is good for your hobby interests and a regular job to pay the bills.
My cousin has a degree from new mexico... Hss had it for almost 10 years. Still works quality control at an auto parts manufacturer.

Hi guys, health question for everyone. I've had indigestion (lots of burping/gas when full or empty stomach) for ~2 years now. I went to see a gastroenterologist. He ran a bunch of tests (knocked me out and sent a camera down there, made me drink some liquids and ran X-rays, etc.) and came to the conclusion that nothing was actually wrong with me medically. I've gotten "used" to it, as much as anyone can get used to it I guess, but it's still incredibly annoying. Do you think I should go to a new gastroenterologist and get a second opinion? My only concern is how expensive the visits could get.

    Stress from law school.
Poor american diet low in nutrients and fiber but high in grains and refined sugars.
Ease up on alchol creating foods that ferment in the gut or cause fungus. If it makes good beer then you dont want it. Also dont drink for a bit.

Take triphala with gugul for at least 3 months. It helps restore and heal over time.
If you can do a fast of a few days with tea and juice or light broths to give the gut a break that will help.
Use psyllium husk fiber to help suck in any extranous acid and help eliminate.
Then use probiotic to build up your good parasites to fight the bad.
You can buy this stuff at any curry market.

    Get a heliobactor pylory test.
The fancy ones come back negative lots of times. Its easier to put tape on your anus then remove it and put under a microscope.
If you have h. pylory they will be trying to escape out your butt and can even be seen just by shining a light. They are sometimes hard to detect in the stomach because they burrow into the mucous lining and hide while they are pilloring you from inside.
Doctors miss the parasite until its soo bad you need horrible drug cocktail with flagyl as its main force. And by then the parasite has caused an ulcer.
Once you have the ulcer your gi doc will be glad to treat you with nexium or another proton pump inhibiter.

Did they give you a diet or anything to try out to maybe change it or was the visit purely to determine if it was something serious?

My old gastroenterologist said I was basically just breathing in excess air naturally and that's what caused the issue, so he didn't really recommend any course of action. He prescribed me prescription strength Prilosec in the beginning but it wasn't doing much.

    could be acid reflux
    and/or you could be dehydrated
    had it myself
how much carbonated stuff do you consume?
how much alcohol do you consume?
    what's your diet like?
now, how much water do you drink?
    your gastro doctor sounds incompetent
the above questions were the first things my doctor asked me
told me i didn't need medicine; that i could self-treat
    was in/out in 5 minutes
didn't even charge me the office visit

I don't drink carbonated beverages too often. A soda once a week at most? Never drink alcohol and I drink a lot of water at my desk throughout the day.

Diet is eh. I try to eat homemade salads for lunches at work (chicken, beans, etc.), eat out / order Seamless a couple times a week for dinner, and a wide variety of stuff cooked at home (often Asian dishes with rice, pastas, cooked pork/chicken with sides of veggies, etc). Probably not the most healthy diet in the world, but can't imagine it's altogether terrible either.

It's been a while, but the old doc did ask a bunch of those questions. I think he thought it was GERD at first, but given that the prescription prilosec wasn't working ordered some more tests. Starting to think at the very least it's definitely worth visiting a different doc to see if the old one sucked.

    Go to an indian mart.
Ask the guy with the shiny beard to give you triphala guggul.
    He may only have triphala.
Its cheap. Himalayan and Banyan are good herbal labs.
    Take as directed.
If you want immediate relief try zantac/ranitidine otc for a couple weeks while the triphala heals the inflammation and tones your gut.
    Get a probiotic.
Your diet is fine. Its good compared to the average american. But i would cut out the pig flesh. Its bad for your brain toxins wise.
You a lawyer so you should have no trouble eating well. So while your diet is balanced and good for an american its merely average in the real scheme of things. Specially for your tax bracket.

Btw triphala is just the healing fruits and leaves of 3 trees and guggul is bedelium which is the resin of an incense tree related to myrrh.
Your gut will get better and so will your vision skin and a few other things.

Wow...does it pay to listen to bb commentary TV?
Angel Pagan is batting over .350 batting 9th?...Cueto is 4-0? The offense is considered one of the deepest in bb, and no one, except Pagan is hitting yet? The staff is solid, and Scumgarden hasn't even got untracked yet?
    Fuck that.
The Giants are great, even when they ain't, I guess. Pretty depressing to hear it, even if it may not be square business. Who tf do you listen to anymore?
"Is there no one who will rid me of these meddlesome commentators"?

I prefer to ignore them, but living among a lot of their fans and three Series titles in 5 yrs. makes it tough.

Aye, it does. I mean once in a while, you like to get some info on the rest of baseball by the guys who get paid for sports journalism...but gd, it just is the antithesis of what I wanna hear. Giants Giants Giants.
I guess maybe that what comes when you win 3 out of 5, I imagine. I think you have to do that first, then it follows, and rightly so...
    Filthy scumbags.
