    Think Verdugo really should be starting every game that Joc sits. Already a shame in itself that the kid isn't a starting OF somewhere

    Dave and the FO tried letting a red-hot Puig play everyday in spite of his splits and it didn't work.
    Joc, at this point, is no longer a candidate to play every day. There's a large enough sample size of incompetence vs LHP where he should almost never face one.
    You have to play the match-ups.

    Were there some dumb moves in 2018? Yes, Having Freese in for 1 AB in the first inning comes to mind.
    But overall, the match-up game works. It's not entertaining and can cause problems in the post, but over 162 games, it works.

    I think @ColoradoKidWitGame mentioned he was concerned Kike was getting a little pull happy.
    Encouraging to see him drill that line drive homerun to right-centerfield.

    I think Joc should be the only platoon player. Verdugo/Taylor should take over against lefties. MAYBE Muncy should be platooned. We'll see how that goes this season, but at a certain point, if Belli and Max are gonna be the future, then let 'em hit and prove they can against lefties.

    Dave already said Max and Bellinger will have the opportunity to play everyday, which is the right move.
    Neither of these guys are lost causes against LHP like Joc.
    They are also at different stages of their career. Joc has been Joc for 5 years now.
    So, yes, LF is the only platoon to open the season. Hopefully it stays that way.

    Yeah, a lot of his swings in spring were geared to pull the ball pretty drastically. So I was really happy to see him drill that one out to RC.

    Lineup is posted?

    I'm guessing Taylor in for Joc (would prefer Verdugo, but Roberts wouldn't dare platoon another lefty for a lefty) and Freese for Max...even though I think Max should be playing. ?

    Meh, whatever. I think Taylor should play against every lefty but Freese really shouldn’t at this point in the season. Whatever though, give them their own opening day.

    I do like that Martin is in the lineup. If Martin can hold up, I'd love to see him and Barnes alternate every other day in a 50/50 split. Barnes looked good yesterday, but I'm tired of getting to the end of September with a worn out catcher.
