I like the Grizzlies and all, But I think the Clips/Warriors would be more fun to watch.

    This^^

It's about the culture in NE more than anything else. Goodall had no other option but to lay down a heavy penalty. They did not cooperate with the investigation (see USC) and that's really what this is about. Bountygate was bad too. Coaches got suspended for 1 year for that one.

I think this goes back to the "tuck" game and Brady's inability to hold on to the ball in a cold game. Hell, he was the biggest advocate of changing the rule so that the home teams "controlled" the balls prior to the game. Then he gets caught tampering with the balls??? This whole thing took a lot of thought.

Super Bowl's make teams millions of dollars. You think this penalty outweighs the $$$ Kraft made last year? Think again...

I think the idea that the under inflated balls did not change the outcome of the AFC championship game because of the score, is a media cop out. The truth is we don't know. How many plays might have been affected by it? The ball is easier to hold onto, do the Pats avoid a fumble or two? The ball is easier to throw and catch, do the Pats make a couple more third/fourth down conversions? Luck threw 2 interception in the second half when the Colts were already down by 24+ points, do the Colts call a different game if they are only down 14 points?

I just don't think you can definitively say the Pats win that game no matter what if they play by the rules. What I want to know is, what else were the Pats doing to cheat? They have taken cheating to a new creative level.

The score was 45-7, Colts scored 7 points, It was a complete and utter man handling, and the Patriots dropped 28 in the second half with normally inflated balls, in fact played worse in the first half with the deflated balls. It was 17-7 at Halftime, still a relatively close game. It shouldn't have changed much. The ball is easier to grip, but probably not to throw, that'd be like a dead duck. Maybe if the Colts had game planned properly and didn't give up 9.8 Yards per carry and 226 yards rushing, they would have had a chance. You can definitively say the Pats win that game, no question about it. I am not a Pats fan, it is just fairly obvious.

Dude, the Patriots' fumble rate has been INCREDIBLE in recent years. That's problem here..fuck that Pats/Colts game..this has been going on with them for a long time. i feel like they're gettin off easy, but at least they got docked something.

Brady is losing like 2 million in game checks
Pats (Kraft) are losing 1 million (more than any other fine in NFL History)
lost future 1st and 4th round picks (with Brady out 4 games, could be the difference between pick 20 and pick 32).
That is far too harsh. There would be an argument if the Colts could tackle the ball carrier and have made the game somewhat close, but they couldn't.
And also, the NFL rule is completely stupid. It is a football, Each team takes care of their own footballs, if they want to blow them up like a balloon or deflate them so they are just an airless ball, they should be able to.

I don't like all these alternate uniforms. It ruins the game for me. I love seeing those gold home uniforms and they take that away every year now.

Even the regular unis look bad now though. They switched to some new breathable material and iron on the names and numbers now. So even the authentic jerseys look like knockoffs.

Never been a bball apparel guy anyways though.

    http://www.sharpfootballanalysis.co...iots-mysteriously-became-fumble-proof-in-2007

"Why are fumbles so important? Because as Bill Belichick knows, perhaps more so than most NFL coaches due to his understanding of the game – turnovers usually control game outcomes. Since 2000, teams who won the turnover battle won 79% of their games, regardless of ANY other statistic. A 12-5 record equates to 75% wins, so its clear how vital turnovers are in the minds of intelligent coaches. And as far as turnovers are concerned, the number one concern for a team with a quarterback as skilled and proficient as Tom Brady is not interceptions (because there won’t be many), its fumbles."

he and that bullshit organization got off light imo
look at what the saints got. pats are 2x offenders. punishment doesnt fit the crime when compared to the saints.

Roger Goodell's words to Saints regarding bounty gate.."ignorance is not an excuse"

    Cheaters are gonna cheat...

Bellicheat and Brady could care less about ANY penalties.. because they still have the rings

Nobody will care about suspensions of fines at the end of the day when all they're asking is "how many rings did they win?"
