Anyone who takes a week off going into the playoffs, or in this case 2, deserves to get their asses handed to them.

 

7-1, I'm not counting the " home " game in Mexico..which, BTW, the RAIDERS will be facing the Patriots in Mexico City next year as well.
Out of like the last 12 teams to clinch home field, only 2 or 3 actually reached the Super Bowl, so in reality that 1st round bye doesn't mean a whole lot, MFs walk into your place and kick your ass in the playoffs like nothing.
The ride will obviously be entertaining, but it's house money at this point, I don't expect them to actually win the SB this season.
But it looks like they're gonna go ahead and try to win the division, which was their goal, so that's that..at least that's what they're saying.
I'm more interested in Derek Carr's ability to take a snap under center..I know..that's crazy.

Wrong. Not wanting to win your division, get a first round bye, and home field is still crazy. Tough break, but suggesting the team not play starters with that on the line is ludicrous.

With any luck, Carr will be out half of next season too... less games to get hurt in.

 

That and home field in the playoffs w/a bye doesn't make the road to the SB any easier anyway, can't argue w/history.
To be winning 33-14 and getting away w/playing him..yet he's still in the game in the 4th quarter calling passing plays on 2nd down and 22 w/a huge lead..way past crazy and into the stupid realm.
Live and learn, but this is JDR's 10th year as a HC, he should have a better understanding of how cruel football is.

 

It was never about " not playing the starters ", at least not for me.
For me it was about resting the guys that are overly banged up because if they're healthy they win on the road.
With any luck, Carr won't regress into a Winston-level QB after all this
