    Yet again, social justice activists converged on a conservative-organized event to drown out a voice they did not believe should be heard on their campus. Hundreds of protesters flooded a lecture hall at Middlebury College brandishing "F*** WHITE SUPREMACISTS" signs and shouting at the top of their lungs so that libertarian political scientist Dr. Charles Murray was unable to deliver his lecture as planned. After the event, police say that protesters surrounded the vehicle containing Murray and a professor at the college, jumped on top of it and began pounding on it.

    Murray was invited to speak by a student group affiliated with the American Enterprise Institute, a libertarian think thank at which Murray is the W.H. Brady Scholar. Leading up to the event, as The Middlebury Campus chronicles, various professors, students, and alumni wrote letters decrying Murray's planned talk. Students arrived holding signs declaring, "RESIST WHITE SUPREMACY," "RESPECT EXISTENCE OR EXPECT RESISTANCE," and "F*** WHITE SUPREMACISTS." All of this, as Murray addresses below, is in reference to Murray's study The Bell Curve, which in one chapter addresses the possible links between race and intelligence.

    Yes...These "liberals" believe in totally free speech, unless of course, the opposite side has something they want to say...Then not so much.
    Like they will give everyone whatever they want, as long as it belongs to someone else. Or until the other guy's money runs out.

    Kind of a weird one there. Although the Bell Curve does touch on race and intelligence, it's theme is more about the danger of how intelligence equals success in society, and how to prevent stratification and class divisions based on that.

    Murray advocates massive wealth redistribution and a living wage for all people....things the SJWs protesting him would most likely agree with.

    He also talks about how those born with intelligence are lucky--they didn't do anything to earn it and the associated success, and should behave accordingly. Doesn't seem like someone that would be shouted down if they really knew anything about him or the book.

    The book also argues against immigration and encourages subsidizing birth control which in one context could certainly be viewed as racist.

    But if Margaret Sanger does it, she's a hero.
