Definitely not their finest moment! Only thing this proves is that in general people are morons.

For better or worse, I think the federal government is going to encourage people, businesses, and states to get back to work sometime in the next 20 days.
I don't know if that means 56,000 people can gather in stadiums, but most of the economy will probably resume.

I think that partisan cable 'news' channels and online, subscription based content with niche audiences supports your theory.

However, mass appeal over-the-air networks such as ABC, NBC, and CBS are some of the worst offenders. There's no way those networks are capable of telling anyone what they want to hear because their audience is too diverse, and most viewers don't have a passionate worldview anyway.

But that plays to their advantage. Through sheer volume and amplification of negative coverage, they can successfully create the perception of controversy (or whatever they want) to those who don't really pay attention.

For instance, a guy who doesn't follow politics or remember anything about High School civics picks up a newspaper to read the sports section but sees "IMPEACHED" on the front page with Trump's face....He turns on the news to check the weather and the segment is tent-poled by two negative Trump stories.

THAT's the goal of the MSM.
To put their ideas into the heads of people who are not in the market for it.

FOX News, MSNBC, CNN, The Young Turks, Daily Wire, etc. all exist for people who are in the market for politics and yes, want to be reaffirmed of their beliefs.

But the truest of mainstream media has a different goal....
...Telling the passive people WHAT they (the media) think the audience SHOULD hear.

^As I say this, however, I do think CNN is the worst because it fits into the category of partisan affirmation channels while still purporting to be "straight news."

FOX refers to Sean Hannity as a "Political Commentator"/"Talk Show Host"

CNN calls Don Lemon and Anderson Cooper "Anchors"/"Reporters"

    That is wrong.

    They all suck.
Sean is not a capable interviewer and repeats the same thing over and over.
My point is there is a clear deception with CNN by the way they credit their on-air talent.
There is a breach of trust when an opinion host is labeled an anchor/reporter.

Hannity also has the rude habit of talking over his guests.

The whole reporter/objective journalist thing went out the window long ago.

Nah, I don't think the Brother Theodore I know was related to anyone. Might have been a local character on this coast, Idk.
He was a strange, intense guy who dressed like a monk...babbled on incessantly, with sentences of clarity and wit now and then.
Like a spooky version of Professor Irwin Corey.

With Trump's approval at 60% for his handling of the virus outbreak (ABC and Gallup), CNN, ABC, NBC, MSNBC and others are now cutting away from the official briefings and considering not airing them.

If you make over $75,000 you have to pay the stimulus check back. $99,000 or more, you get nothing.
Do they realize a combined income of $75,000-$99,000 in some places (here) is fringe low-income?

Also, the current bill makes it so you earn more if you're laid off than if you are able to keep working. Unemployment would be $600 per week plus 100 percent of what you were earning. I must be reading that incorrectly. There's no way that's right.

Because it’s nothing but harmful . Even the stock market reacts negatively to him speaking.

the public needs consistent messaging in this pandemic. Not off hand crap that his staff and doctors have to correct off camera.

I am sure they are planning for that but that seems very unlikely. CA is flattening out the curve. CA May be open for business before other states. I don’t know how President Cheeto can say America can go back to business when you have Atlanta out of ICU beds when they haven’t even been hit hard by the virus yet.
