    Okay then.

Scott Van Slyke has a 1.013 OPS against lefties this year in 77 PAs.

Carl Crawford has a .758 OPS against lefties this year in 40 PA's.

    That's not even close.

Van Slyke in career has a .859 OPS against lefties, so it's not just this year... History suggests his best asset to this team is to do well against lefties. I mean seriously, have you not seen him crush lefties this year? Carl Crawford's career OPS against lefties is .681... including last year having a .551 OPS!

And if you want to simply start Crawford cause of "hot hand" that's hypocritical, cause you weren't saying anything about sitting Crawford when he had an entire month after the DL of hitting .184/.241/.211

So if your argument is "Hit the players that are currently streaking, regardless of any history of splits!" then your argument falls apart not just with being quiet in Crawfords terrible slump, but not really suggesting anything for any other players.

and if your argument is that you truly believe Crawford is a better option versus lefties then Van Slyke then you either really really love Crawford or hate Van Slyke or I dont know.

So please, you can mock what I told you all you'd like but starting Crawford over Van Slyke against a lefty is going to be a mistake every time.

    hate to say it
but we're not a good team right now
not with the injuries we've sustained

3 out of 5 pitchers are average to bad. 1 of the other pitchers isn't going to be 100%. 3 automatic outs in the lineup every game.

Gordon is slumping a bit. Adrian, Carl, Kemp, Puig, and Turner are all hitting good enough but still a lack of extra base hits in that bunch. Well, Kemp is a doubles machine but yeah.

And the bullpen is still, yikes.

I am glad that they are getting Hanley, Uribe, Ryu, and Greinke healthy though. We can still beat these shit teams and in the long run it is better for the team to have these guys healed rather then being shitty as they play through injury and nothing good comes out of it in the end. It's just a rough time right know with all of them injured at the same time.

The Giants still suck and the offense still has enough talent to make up for shaky pitching, but these guys can't go into a huge slump and put themselves in too big a hole. Keep the pressure on the Giants, that team is shit

    totally agree
but even when everyone gets healthy, the pen (as you alluded) is still a huge concern
and in the meantime, it's even a bigger liability -- poor starters (sans clayton) followed by proven bed shitters

Van Slyke was 2-4, so certainly not the problem
