The Rockies series was the official panic time, the series loss to the Giants was the official division is over, and today might be the end of the WC. Winning this game wouldn't have assured anything either. This team can't hit. We can be 1 GB all we want. This team does not hit. Night after night. Why does that change on Monday against Washington? Everything relies on something changing. And it doesn't. I wait every single day for something to change. It doesn't. The reality is we had like 3 hits until the 9th inning last night, and Luis Cruz bailed out everyone else. This team does just enough to not be completely dead. That doesn't win much for you. 90 feet away from taking the WC lead, and they cannot get it done. Just enough to not be dead. Splitting a series. Not winning it. Taking 2/3 from a bad team. Not sweeping it. Or even losing series to bad teams. It was a long hot day. My brain and body are fried. Deflated. A lot of time and money invested in a product that refuses to be adequate. That's my state of the Dodgers address for today.
We are doomed... Period... We an hit and we cant ask the bp to keep throwing zeros for 5 inning every night... One of theses days we'll score 7 runs and lose because the bp is just smoked...
This falls on DBB and the hitters. Fife did his job. The bully up until the moron did their job. DBB continues to trot Vic out in the leadoff spot when it is obvious he is not leadoff hitter. He continues to allow Kemp to hit in the 3 hole when it is obvious he is not hitting. Piss poor managing. Credit for bullpen use but jesus.
DBB has one more year. PERIOD. If you cannot win with that lineup, we will hire someone who can. His "we tried...we will get em' next time shit" has run its course.
How many bad swings does Kemp need to take before its obvious hes hurting the team? They walked ethier to get him... That says it all...
That implies it will be a tough road that we will overcome. We will not overcome. Too much of the same stuff every night.
well last night i wanted to come in and say that was a moment where the season could turn. i watched the ninth on one screen of a massive sports bar with my boy that i have a business w down south. no one gives a shit about the dodgers here and less about baseball. but that was great seeing cruz drive that ball. but this is not our year boys. i will be there until the last out but if you hope to get it done you dont follow up an incredible win with a loss like this. glad i missed it to be honest.
It's a shame this season will end early because to Kemp hit a wall (literally) and Kershaw and Billingsley got hurt, three of the four players we figured we could always rely on.
Opposite for me. I keep torturing myself into thinking we're one hot streak away from getting into the playoffs with this team we have.
Me too. Just look at that lineup...how can we not hope, if not expect this team to pour out runs like their free? The pitching, whomever it is is getting it done and if this team would score the high league average runs per game, we'd be golden...maybe even be a threat in the postseason. Adrian Loney has been my biggest disappointment in a long long time. He had a part in almost all of our success in this series yet he seems only capable of a 1st inning double occasionally. I cannot understand where his HRs went to. Where's his clutch RISP? If this is yet another motherfucker that roided-got his contract-then stopped, then I guess we got fucked yet again. Hanely obviously did the same shit too. Vic, well I don't know what to say.
