Only because some people have a need to be the victims, all the time. Like you.
As if you, your family, or your kids are in my individual conscienceness... I think about you and them as often as you think about me... is very rarely accurate ?
Maybe as a dull, passing thought, I might think, " why does he even exist"? That's it.
If you approached this terrible terminology that insults you and your brethren so much as a person with manners, you may have gotten a totally different reaction...but you immediately suggested that why don't I use the word nigger ( which you didn't even have the balls to write) when describing blacks. Even you knew what I meant within the context.
If you were of more of what you attempt to project yourself as, you wouldn't be apologizing for your insipid text, like above, on a baseball message board.
And if you want respect from someone who innocently used a term you are offended by, then call attention to it with respect yourself, not like a petulant vulgarian. Not with over the top suggestions of racism. Then you complain about not getting a discussion from me after your "N word" comment.
    Are you a racist?
Got a problem with ageism, too?
Got problems with where a person lives?
Your written angst sure reads like you do...
You got exactly what you deserved.

Actually, I think it may smell even worse than it did 50 years ago, Captain.
Now, we are even more aware of it than then, but it still goes on, even with the multi media "transparency"...it's even more of a smack in the face than ever.
    Well written post.

I never use mongoloid nor like its use towards the handicapped. But i use retarded juat fine. Or special.
Thing is that latin people say mongolito when talking abour people with certain disabilities is normal. At least mexicans. Mongolito is said even by close member of children in the family.
But they also yell puto at soccer games without it meaning homosexual prostitute.
Its like how we use the word jagoff or dickwad.
I dont use mongoloid personally other than in scientific terms like negroid and caucasoid. But its not offensive in the least unless you have a personal story of offense.
Ive been called all sorts of things but its never affected me to where i want to limit the rights of what others can say.

    We are post puig now.

Imaginr if he comes back and they put him on the bench and bat him at the end of the lineup?
While Riddick in a huge slump comes in and is givien a prime spot in the order on day one. Puig doesnt get that kind of love but Riddick does.

Me too...just don't go at someone who made a outdated term by suggesting they use nigger then and that they are racist. And expect respect in return.

Friedman visited Puig in Oklahoma City
by Matthew Moreno | Dodger Blue — 7 hours ago

Los Angeles Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman was plenty optimistic over Yasiel Puig heading into the 2016 season. Friedman went so far as to call the 25-year-old outfielder one of the team’s wild cards.

Although Puig was coming off a down season and at one point was the subject of a domestic violence investigation conducted by Major League Baseball — albeit one that was more smoke than substance — the enigmatic talent drew interest from other clubs.

The Dodgers resisted against trading Puig, electing to instead focus on drawing the best they could out of him, which figured to be boosted by new manager Dave Roberts.

Puig by all accounts responded well to the new coaching staff. But some of his focus appeared to wane as the season went progressed.

As a result, the Dodgers optioned him to Triple-A Oklahoma City after failed attempts to trade Puig at the Aug. 1 non-waiver trade deadline. The demotion was said to be related to off-the-field issues.

Puig didn’t aid matters when he posted a series of videos to Snapchat, depicting the group drinking and signing along with loud music on a party bus.

Friedman issued a statement in which he said he was disappointed by the players’ behavior on the videos. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he was surprised by the incident.

While the general perception is Puig has been banished to Oklahoma City, he was recently visited by Friedman, who came away encouraged, according to Bill Plunkett of the OC Register:

Friedman said he spoke with Puig and characterized those conversations only as “very good.” He praised Puig for the work he has put in since joining the OKC Dodgers.

“He has obviously performed extremely well,” Friedman said Thursday. “What’s more impressive is the work he has been doing on his swing, making adjustments. That process has been fun to watch. All the reports from our staff there have been incredibly positive. Witnessing him the past few days has been great because I think a lot of internal conversations we’ve had with him have really resonated.”

Puig is hitting a blistering .441/.513/.824 with two doubles, one triple, three home runs and 11 RBIs over nine games with Oklahoma City. He also has five walks to just one strikeout in 39 plate appearances.

While the Snapchat story drew plenty of negative attention, Oklahoma City rattled off six consecutive victories, with their winning streak ending Tuesday. What the future holds for Puig is unknown.

The Dodgers could place him on waivers and potentially pursue a trade, or recall Puig for their final postseason push. Josh Reddick, now the club’s everyday right fielder, has been significantly affected at the plate by bad luck since being traded to the Dodgers.

David Vassgay told Petros & Money on the radio today that Reddick said fans in RF at Dodger Stadium were giving him a bunch of crap.

Booo freakin hoo. Reddicks batting average is only slightly better than the pitchers on our team. He deserves to get booed until he picks it up.

If Moore and Madbum dominate us AND Yasiel doesn't shoot himself in the foot AGAIN, this could get interesting because that would further the reality that we are too vulnerable to left handed pitching. So much intrigue.

It was just a preemptive strike on my part. When I say a positive thing about Yasiel I get shit from some posters lol. He's not up in the majors.

Oh...I see. I don't know, of course, how demonic he is/was in the clubhouse...but I think he would ge better on the bench than any choice we have now, for sure. Of course, that's offensively. The others can play multiple positions, and that is the Nerd m.o.
    Should be interesting come Sept.1st.
