The Dodgers are calling up top infield prospect Corey Seager, tweets Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. Seager is ranked by many as the game’s top overall prospect.
Well, it will be good to finally see him, but in the post season run, I think Jimmy Rollins is the shortstop. Pretty sure. Everyone ready to curse and crucify Jro, warm it up, because DBB will go with the vet. Majority anyway.
:kike: It had to happen. Turner needs rest and we shouldn't be turning to Utley or Guerrero at 3B at this point.
No doubt. Just saying that Utley's next game at 3B will be his 1st ever game at 3B. Seager's better equipped to handle it. Hopefully Utley keeps it up with the timely hits at least. Nice scoop shot for the HR last night.
If he can play today, he should be in there. Today's game would be Turner's 4th start in a row and he hasn't done that a whole lot. Get Seager in there ASAP.
I hope this doesn't mean Turners hand is hurt and is more about getting Rollins and Turner days off with a more capable back up But this is freaking awesome. Get his feet wet and even if he struggles, which lets face it, could easily happen, he will be much more ready for 2016. Similar to Joc This is awesome and with 4 righties going for the Padres, a great time to get him a few starts
Turns out this is cause Peraza has a sore hamstring, according to Rosenthal Mother fucking hamstrings man, that's 4 dudes getting injured with that? Shit. Really testing the depth of the team to have so many injuries all at once
That doesn't really add up. Peraza was mainly getting 2B/CF work. Peraza wasn't gonna play 3B, was he?
So maybe Turner is gonna get 2B work and keep Utley from playing everyday, which would leave 3B open for Seager to play just about every game of this series at least. Keeps his ABs coming and keeps him active I guess.
I mean I guess you have to have a backup SS option and with Seager there he can serve at both spots on the left side when they need him to. That's one hell of a fix with SS/3B options dwindling.
But now there's no backup shortstop, and I'm sure they're iffy about our current back up 3B situation
Definitely iffy about their backup 3B options, but yeah both spots on the left side needed an upgrade in depth and Seager's a hell of a fix. Turner's on schedule to sit today. Would like to find a couple spots to sit Grandal as well, but a series against his old team could also spark him and get him going a lil bit. Maybe playing him in SD will pay off and this is the series to push him through? Perhaps give him a break against the Angels and/or DBacks? Crawford LF Seager 3B Ethier RF Gonzalez 1B Utley 2B Rollins SS Grandal C pitcher Pederson CF Personally, that's how I'd set the lineup today with Crawford turning it on, but DBB would probably keep Rollins in the leadoff spot and hit Seager in the bottom half with that group.
