We are about 5 days from finding out if our season is over or if there is a chance. Division has been done since the COL series loss. Everyone's, including myself's belief in an NL West title being POSSIBLE was reliant on the Dodgers helping themselves and taking advantage of opportunites. It was also assuming we would beat SF head-to-head. THat was all fun to hope for but now we can really see there was no way. Can't even beat the Madres. I mean can the Dodgers win the West? Yes. But will they? Absolutely not. They will not win 9/10 at any point. They will not sweep the Giants the last 3 days. The Giants won't roll over and choke this thing. So we aren't winning it whether it is possible or not. It's been done since the COL series. As our eyes OFFICALLY shift to the NL Wild Card race, we are going to find out very soon whether or not we will be in the hunt for a playoff spot. If we lose to STL, we are done. It really shouldn't be like this. But, it is. Can't hit Jeff Francis, Drew Palm, etc. Cannot finish sweeps of bad teams. Cannot even win series against bad teams. Cannot score off Zito. This is a gutless uninspired team. I feel Kershaw is the only one that loses sleep over any of this.
We are at least 5 games below .500 since April. We go out and make these moves, and are worse. Fun stuff.
The team has enough talent that it'd be foolish to give up on them. That said, as far as expectations go, I think everyone agrees making the playoffs would be a surprise at this moment. I'm an optimistic person, but that "confident as fuck" mantra only goes so far, eventually you sit and watch a team that doesn't score runs against bad pitching.
The Cardinals and the Dodgers are both playing like shit right now.. They both have the talent to be the leaders in there division but sloppy play and not putting winning streaks together have put us both in this spot. I would rather see the Giants behind us then the Dodgers, well because I can't stand the damn Giants.. This up coming series is going to be a big one for both teams but both schedules are very much alike so even if one team gets the upper hand it isn't over until it is over..
Thanks bro, I just have respect for the Dodgers. If I had to pick a team from Cali I would go with the Dodgers. Plus I know I have said this before I think but I just love baseball period. Anyways I would have to say the same about you and the many other fans I have meet.. You guys come in the Cards forum and voice a very good opinion.

Trust me I know bro, that's why girls don't play the game. I hate the fact that the Giants are the ones in first but that is the way it is right now.. I know a lot of people are going to get mad and start getting there blood pressure going but that is what baseball is all about. Yes, if the Dodgers win against the Cardinals yes I will be pissed ofF and say some shit but I have respect for the game and the Dodgers.. Thanks tho for the warning
Hey bro, don't ever feel bad for calling the Cardinals that... I don't agree..lol.. But I like that you have the passion with the Dodgers and give other teams shit... The old days of players hating one another because they are on the wrong team is over. I remember all the days my dad use to say how if a Cubs player for example before the game would start and they would try and talk to Bob Gibson he would give the guy a eat shit and die look... If that player was too hit a homerun off of him and show him up, well the next pitch that player would see would be WAY in side. Damn I wish I could have seen those games..
