    So @doyerfan has probably entered my country, and we just had the worst flood in recorded history where I am. Coincidence? I think not. I got a fucking river view from my house!

    I don't mind corona. I prefer modelo or dos equis for cheap Mexican beers. They are all better the bud, bud light, Coors, etc.

    I'm not surprised its popular...everyone is so caught up in the triple hopped, how obnoxiously bitter can we make our IPA hipster arms race lately, that they've forgotten that some people want to throw a case of light, easy drinking stuff in the ice chest and go have fun for the day.

    Choppers Red. Best beer I've had.

    I'm not a stout or even Guinness guy but I will drink the Guinness in Europe without hesitation. It's just that much better there.

    Guinness just doesn't travel well. Irish buddy of man swears, "it's the goddam pasturazashun'!"

    Edit: Forgot to mention, you're right, it is just damned good over there. BTW, if any of you guys have the chance to go to Ireland, do. Damn if I didn't have the time of my life there when I went.

    For Mexican cerveza's I prefer Pacifico or in a pinch Sol but preferably Pacifico. Not such a fan of XX or XXX. And Corona is shit, which is why your put the lime in it to disguise it.


    Had to reply with and agree with you about the over the top hoppy brews too. I like hops and an IPA once in a while but some of these are too bitter to drink... and they congratulate themselves on it?!??!

    I guess that it becomes a self limiting thing as it is simply not possible to drink too many hoppy IPA's.. can't choke it down after #2 or #3

    Seriously, there are plenty of light easy drinking session IPA's out there. Founders Brewery has All Day IPA, which is exactly that, you could pretty much drink it all day. I prefer their Centennial IPA, which I wouldn't recommend for an all day event, but it is very tasty. But the point is that you can do much better than the usual domestics and even the Mexicans without incredibly high alcohol/hop levels. And it's not bitter, it is taste...something the domestics have NONE of.

    Mostly because many 'establishments' offer only domestics and Corona. Easy choice.
