Dude's been on that lousy contract for years, so why not fuck over the Brewers a tad bit?
Finally found himself in position to exert at least a small level of power against them and took it, good for him I guess.
He may be fucked as far as that '17 option goes, but hell, he was gonna be fucked anyway since Cleveland had no plans on waiving it.
And knowing how cheap Cleveland can be I'd be willing to bet that either they didn't wanna negotiate an extension or give up major prospects + money as well.
Might as well see what else is out there, I'm sure his agent's gone to MIL multiple times to try and get a new deal there, one that suits a player of his caliber.
Pretty sure the player's association would love to see Lucroy hit the open market after this year.

    Thats what i wanted.
Rich Hill, Josh Reddick from teh A's.
Lucroy and Braun from the Brews.
That would fix all our issues.

Does this mean AJ Ellis, too? Can't imagine anyone who does want him, but...If it does, then this would be a perfect opportunity to include him as a throw-in in a larger deal.
Get rid of the extremely hated, no hitting mass murderer pedophile once and for all.
Oh, maybe don't tell Kershaw just yet if they do it.

I don't know how recently they made it, but seems like LA made an offer for Reddick/Hill

Lucroy wanted his 17 option waived because the Indians told him he wasn't guaranteed to start next year. He'd be a backup at C/1B/DH. I seriously doubt that he wouldn't start with what they Indians gave up but I don't know why Cleveland would even tell him that in the first place. Sounds like he doesn't want to compete to me.

Bizzarre situation. Yan Gomes freaking sucks. Seems like an easy thing to say "Hell yeah you're starting next year. Shit, lets sign you up for 2018"

11:25am: Hoynes reports that the Indians weren’t planning on cutting Lucroy’s playing time in 2017. Hoynes’ source indicated to him that the club wouldn’t have been willing to part with the level of talent it had agreed to without having every intention of allowing Lucroy to start behind the plate (links to Twitter).

They've pulled both Bellinger and Verdugo out of Tulsa's lineup today.
Gonna be pretty pissed if Bellinger is traded.

@JonHeyman: dodgers talking about archer and/or moore from TB, as @jaysonst @Ken_Rosenthal said. not much Sale talk around LAD lately

    m.twitter.com/JonHeyman

Moore? Da heck. No more marginal upgrades. That guy is just a younger version of Kazmir.

Hill on the DL did I read? Wow...the FO instincts for injured pitchers is uncanny.
Actually wouldn't a pitcher who is like Scott Kazmir during his younger days be a good thing?
