    I've said it before, but as the deadline gets closer, I would not be shocked if the team stays pat. With no real good news about Kershaw, I could see them saying, "let's not harvest the future when we won't even have CK." Prices remain stupid and top talent is dropping off the board left and right, which will only make the players left even more expensive.

    been saying this as well
    there's obviously areas we could improve on
    but most of the options are going to be cost [prospects] prohibitive
    so i won't be all that upset if they do nothing
    rather they sit pat than make a poor/unnecessary move
    and fwiw i'm not a fan of acquiring jay bruce

    So if we just give up, and let the Gnats get Nunez and Bruce, while we don't do anything, that's going to help us in anyway?

    If these prospects are so golden, play them. Get Puig out of here and play some of these guys. If Ryu is a basket case, get the other guys to pitch.

    We've been so in the "middle" all the time, I have no idea what the plan will be.
