The solution is there. Put Taylor back as the starting 2B vs righties with Logan starting vs lefties.
    Kemp/Trayce
    Joc/Taylor
    Puig/Puig

Let Toles prove his health in AAA and DL old man Utley so he can be a player coach in the dugout.

I don't necessarily disagree on Trayce, the only reason I think he makes the team is due to him being able to handle all 3 OF positions. Whatever happened with the back has totally screwed up his swing to a point where he no longer generates any loft(look at his spring so far). Kemp is making noise with the bat and early last season when he was in shape, he was one of the best hitters in baseball. So I think the club rolls the dice hoping to catch lightning in a bottle and using it to move him and as much of his salary as possible. If I am wrong, then I'm wrong, but I believe Kemp is the regular starting LF'er for the first month of the season barring injury or trade.

Like I said, Toles in AAA makes plenty of sense since he is coming off the major knee injury and they probably want to limit his load earlier in the season anyway(the FO and coaching staff have actually said as much in multiple interviews). He does look great so far, but I could totally see him starting the year in AAA, especially if the org wants him to get AB's against LHP. The dude seems to be just a flat out physical freak, so he will be back starting for this club eventually this season, imo.

I no longer know what to think of Joc, his WS after the season he had was amazing and if he is making any sort of noise like that towards the end of camp, then you have to find a way to play him. Only thing is they are saying that in the offseason he once again tweaked his mechanics at the plate and the numbers/PA's are not great in response. It is still early and only spring, but could see the FO using this excuse for stashing him in AAA and making sure he is hitting on all cylinders before bringing him back up(or when Kemp falls flat).

You're gonna bench Forsythe 60-70 percent of the time?

Yes, we could always use him as a pinch hitter for when they bring in a reliever. He should still get an at bat or two every game as a pinch hitter/defensive replacement.
His splits vs right-handers last season were a horrible black hole.190 .315 .262.
Even at his best he is a .700 to .740 OPS hitter vs righties.
And he was clearly not at his best last year. Adding Toles or even Joc to the lineup vs righties makes us way more potent.
I have more faith in Joc getting to .800 OPS vs righties than I do Logan.

Mike Moustakas close to a 1 year deal to return to the Royals
    and
Carlos Gonzalez is closing in on a 1 year deal to return to the Rockies.

These are both Boras clients, so I wonder if we have resolutions in the Arrieta and Holland sweepstakes soon. Word is the Padres are kicking around the idea of making a run at Arrieta.

Moustakas signed a 1 year deal with a lot of twists and turns that I am not getting into.

I think "good full time rotational pitcher when all is said and done" is best case scenario for Ohtani. But I do think he sticks longer at DH, and to his detriment. His choice to jump to MLB and choose a team that will embrace him DHing shows where his head is at, and Arte cares more about image than winning so he will milk the side-show as much as he can.

Honestly, for it to make sense he needs to be an elite DH, not just average, considering it has to be at least some detriment to his pitching plus he takes that valuable position away from the rest of the team (for the Angels it probably doesn't matter because their offense is so poor, but for a contending team it would matter). Every year the experiment continues is another year lost for Ohtani to reach his true potential. I wouldn't be surprised to se him back in Japan in 5 years.

If it comes down to Joc/Trayce/Toles I’m keeping Joc and when/if he sucks then bring up Toles.
