more d'fag bitterness... lol at them still saying puig dissed luis gonzalez a d'bag legend?... that's akin to calling someone a cool douchebag and mccain referring to the dodgers as "overpaid" is the ultimate pot/kettle scenario and we're the idiots lol... The Dodgers are idiotsby Dan Bickley | AZ CentralNot to paint with broad strokes, but the Dodgers are idiots.Yasiel Puig thought it OK to blow off a Diamondbacks legend in his own ballpark, and everyone in Dodger Blue covered for him.A handful of others thought it OK to mock another team’s playoff tradition, jumping in the Chase Field pool after winning the National League West on Thursday. And nobody thought to stop them.Said it before: I really wish Randy Johnson would un-retire and sign a one-game contract for 2014.On Wednesday morning, I made a case why the Diamondbacks needed to watch the Dodgers celebrate on their own field: Motivation. Incentive. A lingering, burning reminder to carry them through the offseason. How else could this team catch a cash-flush juggernaut?I concluded by hoping the Dodgers would really pour it on. Like dancing on the dugouts. Maybe Puig would even jump in the pool. I never thought they could actually be so stupid, so classless, so ignorant. When the Diamondbacks clinched the division in 2011, their post-game pool party was an organic masterpiece. The moment became part of the mythology of Chase Field, where the pool became much more than a sponsorship gimmick and showcase for high-dollar fans. For Diamondbacks players, it became the reward at the end of the journey. Almost like the Pacific Ocean for Lewis and Clark.Surely, the Dodgers were aware of the breach of etiquette. If they weren’t, it’s an even worse commentary on their lack of awareness, on their lack of respect for baseball history. And now the Diamondbacks have only one option: They need to stage a high-profile draining and cleansing of the pool. Maybe even bring in Bill Murray in a HAZMAT suit. And then send the bill to Magic Johnson. __
LMAO Via Merriam Webster Tradition - a way of thinking, behaving, or doing something that has been used by the people in a particular group, family, society, etc., for a long time It's not a "tradition" if you've won the division and jumped in the pool twice in the past 11 years
This guy is a complete fucking idiot, sad he has a job doing this.. Check out his article two days before he wrote that one: http://www.azcentral.com/insiders/d...y-at-chase-field-diamondbacks-need-to-see-it/ L.A. party at Chase Field? Diamondbacks need to see it Nobody wants to watch the Dodgers celebrate a division title at Chase Field. But it’s exactly what the Diamondbacks need to see. They need a hard, painful, lingering reminder that will carry them through the off-season. They need the motivation that only embarrassment and civic failure can provide. Maybe it will spur them the way Ian Kennedy galvanized the Dodgers over the summer. This much is certain: When the Dodgers clinch, it will be a watershed moment. Remember what an embarrassment this franchise was under Frank “Divorce” McCourt? Now, they are the wealthiest, hungriest team in baseball. They are overflowing with talent, money and owners that want to win. How long can this reign last? And what can the Diamondbacks do to stop them? As our own Nick Piecoro points out, the Diamondbacks thought they had control of this division two years ago. Back then, General Manager Kevin Towers said his stable of pitchers would allow the team to compete for the next 5-7 years. The outlook has clearly changed. Trevor Bauer and Ian Kennedy have been traded; Daniel Hudson has serious arm problems; Brandon McCarthy and Trevor Cahill are erratic; and the ceiling has lowered on Tyler Skaggs The Diamondbacks are going to need some new faces and a lot of off-season fuel. So as nauseating as it sounds, it’s best that the Dodgers party on our grass, on our home-field. And hopefully, they’ll really pour it on and start dancing on the dugouts. Maybe Yasiel Puig will take a dip in the pool. That would be highly motivating.
^yup, what fucken babies and it just keeps getting better... maybe somebody needs to tell/remind this inept asshat that the d'bag pitchers already threw at our guys or did he conveniently forget that that's what caused the brawl and on gibson wanting "throw a couple of haymakers"... yeah, big mac will be waiting for your classless punk ass fuck you d'bags... Arizona Diamondbacks: Dodgers' Pool Plunge Requires Retaliation Yahoo Contributor Network By Michael Dunlap | Yahoo Contributor Network – 2 hours 27 minutes ago COMMENTARY | The Arizona Diamondbacks were slapped in the face by the Los Angeles Dodgers when the men in blue and white decided to jump into Chase Field's signature pool after clinching the National League West. Retaliation is needed for an act that the Dodgers had to realize would ruffle some feathers. Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson is old-school and would probably like to throw a couple of haymakers, but I'm here to propose a different kind of payback. This feud runs deeper than just a disrespectful celebration. The Arizona Diamondbacks didn't like the Los Angeles Dodgers much before the pool incident. Heck, the city of Phoenix doesn't care for the city of Los Angeles. The Phoenix Suns hate the Los Angeles Lakers, the Arizona Cardinals hate the -- never mind that one. The most satisfying retaliation in the short term (and the one most recognized by the older generation) would be a bit of sweet chin music to one of the Dodgers' stars. Perhaps Yasiel Puig and his grandstanding would enjoy a 95-mph heater off of his knuckles. That's still not the long-term solution. Diamondbacks CEO and president Derrick Hall said in reference to the celebration, "I could call it disrespectful and classless, but they don't have a beautiful pool at their old ballpark and probably wanted to see what one was like." Yes, snarky comments and passive aggressive behavior is commonplace for the front office. There's only so much they can say, and there's really nothing that they can do to deal with the situation (aside from charge the Dodgers for chlorine, I guess). Diamondbacks pitcher Brandon McCarthy hit the nail right on the head. The best way to end a feud or at least the best way to get the better of the feud is to hit the other team where it hurts the most -- the win column. McCarthy said, "Celebrating is fun. I don't care how and where you do it. Only thing to care about is what we need to do to celebrate in our pool next year." The Diamondbacks should simply get their retaliation by focusing on winning the division next year so they can celebrate in the pool. You can bet the Dodgers won't get an invite to that party. So proud of the media that this guy thinks that you should purposely injure someone in the head for something as wtv as this
Funny... Phoenix hates Los Angeles... Maybe it's because we are everything they want to be but can't. Suns hate the Lakers... DUH... Lakers = Dynasty - Suns = Lakers doormat. Dodgers = Storied Franchise - D-Bags = Crybabies
Plus, the Cardinals haven't even had their new stadium for that long. They played at ASU's stadium forever.
Yeah that was it for me too... If the caliber of your 'legend' is so low that 98% of baseball fans reply "who's that?" then there ain't much legendary about it. Oh you say it's a Diamondbacks legend? What's that? Don't get bit? And seriously If I'm the D'bag's why in the fuck didn't you drain the pool before the game just as a precaution if you're going to get your panties in a twist over it? Oh... because you're a loser team who thinks Luis whats his name is a legend...
THe Foggy Bottom Boys. Brilliant Irish, just brilliant. Most legends can catch a ball in LF. I guess not always. Get Johnson a fucking banjo and sit him on a bridge over the Cahoolawasie, and play Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs. Dat's wot ahm talkin'bout....
I don't understand why Hall is so proud of that stupid pool. This has been a joke for years. Its a fucking baseball park, a pool does not belong there. Quit being so damn upset that the players went to the pool after the stadium had already emptied. The D'backs organization has become more of a joke as the years go by.
