Wow....if this is true this is beyond ridiculous. I know it's hard for them to accept the fact we blew the doors off Major League Baseball the last 2-3 months but to ask this team not to celebrate a division title on their field is just straight bad sportsmanship. You lost and we won....fucking deal with it. If our guys weren't all injury prone they should do cartwheels and flips then proceed to all slide into home plate one by one. Operation celebrate at Chase Field!
lol, the same derrick hall who once worked for the dodgers and was best known for his manny mota impression
I doubt the Dodgers celebrate with a full blown party. Winning the division is basically a formality at this point, so I imagine the celebration will be toned down. Plus, since we are in Arizona, guys like Adrian Gonzalez and Paco Rodriguez aren't going to do anything to draw unneeded attention their way.
i don't see anything out there in the way of an article. doubt its really true when i think about it.
Dodgers are allowed to celebrate for as long as they want on the field. The Dbacks asked them not to return to the field after they go back to the clubhouse. Idk why.
IDK...it sounds very Kirk Gibsonish. If I was a billionaire or something, I would hire skydivers with blue smoke trails and banners and sirens and blaring "Apocalypse Now" Wagnerian music at the ready if we win in AZ. Something subtle like that.... Might be a little tricky at night.
It is pretty classless to ask us not do something they've worked their asses off to achieve. Having said that I don't think the Dodgers should celebrate anything for a division title but this could be our only chance to celebrate.
If anyone is wondering or missed it, Vin Scully actually reported last night during the game telecast.
I wouldn't be surprised. Remember this? http://deadspin.com/dodgers-fans-at-chase-field-forced-to-change-clothes-or-472797108
According to "Vin never lies" its true... Vinnie read the request verbatim on last night's telecast. Who you gonna believe? The honorable Vin Scully or some mealy mouthed oven baked snake bit loser?
If he was that worried about 'the high visibility' he should have bought the seats out himself... I'd have put the D' bags jersey on over the Dodger jersey and then as soon as the spoiled prick left the area, and with my beer rations secured, I'd be ripping it off an inch or two per pitch until it was shredded and the Dodgers jersey showed through again... Or not... Only because I lived in that hell of a skillet that they call Phoenix and no way I'd pay a dime to go sit in that oven... free beer or no free beer...
What Vinny said was that Gibson told his team to have pride and go out there and prevent the Dodgers from celebrating on their home field. That's a bit different than asking the LAD not to celebrate.
They also mentioned it again on Dodgers Live. And the DBack president was denying it? Fuck this entire organization. I hope they all get AIDS and die. Classless. Whiny. Hypocritical. And now Cowardly. I'm done. Worst team in the history of sports.
