That swing video of his bomb is so fucking sweet. Getting him in the lineup for a few years with Seager should be a lot of fun. I look at him and Seager together as the future Rizzo/Bryant tandem the Cubs have now. Should be an exciting few years.

I like the righty balance that Bryant brings to that duo tho..we're definitely still looking for that.
    Machado/winter 2018..hello.
Fill in around Corey/Cody as they see fit.

Maybe not too far, but the four in a row before that worked out pretty well.

Jose De Leon rated the 8th best RHP pitching prospect in baseball by MLB.com. The names in front of him are all guys that you have heard of before. People are still projecting highly for him, but everyone is waiting to see what his stuff is like at the start of the year. If he is back with his mid-90's fastball, his stock will be back up to front of the rotation starter.

Let's hope so, his velocity dropping off and injuries early in the season seem to be the main reason that his value has lowered in the eyes of the Twins. He recovered late in the season(he was wrecking AAA for like a 10 game stretch), but then when he went to MLB, his MPH saw another downward tick and his usual great control was less common. I think that had more to do with nerves as when he came up at that point it was not, "hey let's see what the rookie can do!" it was "holy shit, this kid better be great so he can start Game 3." Both those issues can be signs of a guy tightening up and trying to throw harder which just results in crappier command and lower MPH. If he and Brock come into camp looking good/improved, someone will come knocking for their services and pay for it. De Leon may be especially desirable as he will hit FA likely at the tail end of his prime.

what impressed me most was his poise
i'm hopeful he comes back healthy and effective
but the nerds willingness to move him might be a red flag
    idk

    agree on stewart too
    if not [immediately] a starter
guy could possibly fill blanton's role

I hope not as a loser...
I know, I know...the guy was good most of the year and helped us win the NLW.
But failed in the best traditions of Kershaw/Broxton-esque post season calamities...I'd rather see the kid in Blanton's role if he's "too tired" not to throw a meatball down Broadway again come October.

Nice article with Chris Woodward about the state of the Dodgers IF. The reason I am placing this here is the bottom. Calhoun it sounds like will be getting to AZ any day now to start training with the Dodgers coaching staff. More good signs of this kids exemplary work ethic. He is serious about fixing his defensive shortcomings, which if he does, makes him a VERY dangerous second baseman.

Lets not forget that every single dodger player of the past 29 seasons is a loser.

To be fair, second base wasn't exactly a defensive hotspot for us last year. Never seen so many unturned double plays. Hopefully the kid can get to league average.

I hope those Calhoun workouts with the training staff provide some encouragement that his glove will be coming around soon. I read an article as recently as yesterday that the Tigers aren't trading Kinsler without Bellinger coming back to them. Now, the Dodgers FO has done a good job hoarding our top prospects, and I want to believe they consider Bellinger untouchable at this point, but what if... Calhoun completely stinks in these workouts and the FO loses hope... determines 2B is too big a need for now and the next few years to ignore... decides Turner can take over at 1B once AGon is gone making Bellinger less of a necessity. Could it happen?

No way, not this FO, Bellinger is here to stay for better or worse.

If Bellinger were just " the next Dodgers' top prospect and in line for 1B ", seeing 2B effect his tenure would still be a long shot, but maybe a shot..a 0.0001 type of shot.
But being that Bellinger could be the #1 prospect in all of MLB by July..no chance.
Bellinger's crossing over into the Seager/Urias path, as both were arguably the #1 spec in MLB when they graduated.
And then of course Bellinger has played plenty of OF and even some CF, so developments at other positions isn't necessarily going to effect his tenure w/LAD anyway.
If Kinsler isn't joining the Dodgers unless Bellinger goes to the DET, Kinsler just isn't joining the Dodgers.

Like BDK said, no chance that happens. They would probably look at overpaying with prospects somewhere else before going that route. 1B is a problem soon too, and this kids upside is just too valuable.

Bellinger's name has been out there so much this off-season, both in trade speculation and spec hype, that it'll be interesting see if a little pressure builds for the kid.
The best type of pressure of course..high expectations.
Far better than the alternative or lower ones
