at this point you can't count on anything from dre or agon imo
and joc is just about an auto out
granderson would only help this team
as we've come to learn, you can never have too much depth

    You had me @ Granderson.
    I came @ Bellinger/CF.
Have always loved that set up with CB in CF..40/50 HR pop in CF is beautiful, just hopefully CB's splits in the OF aren't a real issue.
I love the thought of JT eventually moving to 1B, making room for Arenado @ 3B in the winter of 2019.
Get under the tax over the next year and hit the ROX where it hurts around Xmas time, lump of coal.
What are you hearing out there in COL about Arenado's chances of re-signing to stay?

There have been some reports that scouts feel that the CF of the future for us is in fact Bellinger. I'm not saying that I necessarily want this, but in a "go for it" mode, I could live with this short term. He also has + arm for a CF'er. I think the chances of an Arenado or Harper or Machado coming to this org are slim to nil. Two play positions that would be problematic for our own star (Corey Seager, not Justin Turner) and Harper is going to want more money than a franchise that is looking down the barrel of having to pay to keep its own stars is going to want to spend(especially with his inability to stay healthy for a full season). I think if Turner ever comes off of 3B, it is because they have to move Seager off of SS. He is rated slightly above average for the position, but in my opinion, that is only due to his arm being able to save his ass on occasion. There has been zero talk about the future of Arenado with the Rockies, or anyone else for that matter . The Rockies have always done a great job of locking their stars up long term and I would not doubt that they pull out all stops here as well. He is with Wasserman, not Boras so that probably helps things. Rockies have no long term expenditures outside of the idiotic Desmond deal, but that is heavily loaded for next year. The truth is that we are also looking 2+ years down the line, no idea what turns up before then and with the growth of Denver, they may be able to sustain a payroll in the $150 mil a year range.

Was just saying a couple days ago that CB´s athleticism was sort of a waste @ 1B.
Not about to say he´d be the next Griffey in CF or anything like that, but he is very athletic and has that 50HR potential and the big Griffey-esque uppercut swing.
Even if LAD doesn´t go for Arenado, I´m hoping the ROX, and his situation in particular, end up like Matt Holiday where they have to unhand him.
Not that I want Arenado to land in STL..dear god, no

Watched his last 2 k's but stupidly forgot to watch the game. He struck out Willie Calhoun for one of his last k's.

I´ve gotta start tracking Willie a little bit
MLB network was giving him a lot of love around the time of the trade, all the guys were saying glowing things about him as a hitter, saying scouts all over love his ability at the plate and that he´ll definitely hit in the bigs

Milb.tv. Round Rock Express is his team. Hitting ability off the charts but defense is a big concern IMO he's headed to being a DH which is why I thought he was expendable.

    Orel was automatic.

Succeeded without the Doc Gooden fastball. Had some nasty sink, curve and slide and put wherever he wanted. Competed like no other, too.

Does that mean Villar is available? Someone around these parts would be sporting a chubby.

Villar´s about to be available alright, that Romo/DFA type of available
For some reason MIL is running with Walker @ 3B right now, though, so Villar may have like 1 finger left on the ledge
Not sure what MIL´s situation at 3B would be if Walker took his rightful place @ 2B
If LAD had still been lost @ 2B, they probably would´ve targeted Walker
I could see Villar as the next shitty pick up for the Giants..him taking over @ 3B for the little Panda after he fails to rekindle

Yeah, Im not sure with the current payroll and possible money going to Kershaw in 2020, I wounder what it would take to get Stanton from the Marlins. I know he is older than those guys above, 27 vs 24-26, but he is still a big bat with same or more power. If MGT were able to get Otani next year maybe they could throw a few prospects plus a position player to get Stanton. Stanton's bat + Otani would be more than enough to get the collective "OH SHIT" from the league, and keep the payroll a bit lower. I gota believe that in FA the trio mentioned above will get more than Stanton in FA (stanton gets more than $30MM+ in only 3 years)

my hot take: He's not even the MVP of the Dodgers. Shit, could make an easy argument that he's the 4th best position player on the Dodgers.

What's crazy is that's not even close to an insult. The Dodgers have 4 legitimate MVP candidates, but Turner is the guy to me. He's just fucking raking and playing gold glove D to boot. Should be interesting to see his finish as this is generally the time of year that he really heats up(and he is).

My thinking as well, well sorta, I have CB #3 for us.
I want him to get it, but he won´t tho.
I say give it to Corey and let the hall of fame credentials begin for him, more to gain from a youngster like Corey establishing himself as MVP-1 as a soph.
Although, JT would be a great story.
Last time I looked Corey was out ahead of JT in plate appearances by a nice margin..I´d go ahead and give it to him by a hair since he´s been in there more, even though JT´s peripherals are just downright insane
    Corey´s #´s aren´t bad either, hitting .307 with a .914 OPS
Hasn´t played a GG caliber SS though, so maybe that´ll swing things to JT´s favor at the end of the day when voters are looking at who reward on this juggernaut.
One thing to watch out for, though, is the revenge of Stanton..he´s still owed 1 in his mind and he is uber-raking and making great plays in RF

Goldschmidt, Seager, Harper and Turner off the top of my head are all far more deserving of the MVP award. And like others have said, that's not an insult.
