When the calendar flips to May, the losing usually comes hard and fast... somehow all these young pitchers they have are carrying them without the help of Grey or Anderson

It will be interesting to see how the FO approaches this. Could go with Belli full time in LF, but risky when/if regression hits or AGon's bat is dead or Puig's bat doesn't find some balance. Short term of Utley at 1B seems painful as he has just been soooo bad. There are options, so it will be interesting to see how the go about them. Tough tough loss though.

It'll be SVS unfortunately. MAYBE Dickson?

I'm curious since they haven't made an announcement if it will be someone from off the 40 Man. Usually when the announcement is delayed, it seems to be something of that nature. SVS has not been good at all, so that makes little sense . Dickson has been ok, but his D in the OF is not great so that could be a problem with only Keekay on the bench to fill in. Eibner is probably the call, which yeah, he blows

Yasiel is what he is. A very good defensive player and an unreliable buffoon at the plate. I'm hopeful that when Gonzalez comes back, he will be healthy and able to perform close to what he has the past two seasons. Left field is Bellinger's to lose at this point. Obviously Bellinger is going to go through some growing pains and regress to the mean. We need to acquire a reliable middle-of-the-order bat that plays the outfield and can do it every day for the most part. We all know who that guy is. I would rather Braun replace Puig in the lineup than Bellinger (just slide Cody to RF).

The rookie Senzatela should come down a little as the season goes on but he's been real good. Marquez pitched a gem today and their bullpen has been solid and they finally have a closer in Holland. If you get pitching like they have been getting it brings staying power. Having said that Mark Reynolds has been playing out of his fucking mind which shouldn't last but on the good side if you're a cockies fan Cargo is under the Mendoza line which won't last either. I guess the short answer is IMHO they aren't going anywhere and we should expect them to be our biggest competition going forward. Can't wait for the Doyers to go fuck them up starting tomorrow.

Good points but I was thinking more about the fact that they both play LF and 1st (I think Dickson plays LF). The 40 man roster thing is always the thing that makes it hard to predict.

They now have 3 spots they can use on the 40 man roster since Kaz and Stewart are not close to being ready, plus now they'll have Toles' spot. Disappointed that of the guys they decided on, it was 2 players who have looked bad this year.

They chose already? Haven't seen anything on it yet.

Edit: Just saw Brett Ebner's name.

Afraid that we would see SVS again. At least Ebner has shown he's a AAAA hitter this year. Too bad for Dickson, he's got to be thinking, if not now, WHEN?

For what it's worth, at one time SVS was a decent off the bench option.

Not sure Eibner ever has been.

However neither thrills me on the Dodger roster.

Eibner has had flashes, but like Doughty said, it's that of a AAAA player. I think for SVS to get back to being some sort of threat, he needs to spend some time in AAA playing everyday. He has had too much time without enough game action and he looks like a shell of his former self.

Good point. It's doubtful he would suddenly find it after so few ABs at OKC.

I guess this is the big checks and balances in the sky with Toles going down...can't have Scumgarden and Melancon without corresponding DLs ourselves I guess.
Problem is, it needs to be guys on CO.

I hope that double off the wall by Utley was a sign of things to come...not just a Johnny one note thing.
If it is a fluke, then with the return of SOS, that makes two Ktrancing 3rd strike watchers.
The depth is all marvelous and shit, but what is the depth quality is of utmost importance.
Honestly though, don't quite get why Utley has to play first base...

I think our F.O continues to be gutless. Puig, Urias, Seager and many others have not been bold moves. Everyone one of them have been last resort moves. The player themselves then forced them to keep them around. Its ego driven, just like NedCo and Schmidt. Kazmir will get a couple of starts in the majors soon, just like Anderson did, and MehCarthy last year. Be bold. SVS isn't bold, and achieves nothing.

Seager was a September call up that outplayed Jimmy Rollins and started opening day the next year, so not really.

I remember Rollins been injured, and Seager getting a shot for a couple of weeks and forcing their hand by been better than a 70 year old Rollins. Then he got the start in the playoffs, by been clearly better. The whole time Donnie was feeding us that Rollins gets his spot back when he returns. That's how I remember it, so yeah, really for me.
