I’ll remember that homer in Game 7 of the NLCS for the rest of my life. Dodger legend. He’ll be missed.

    can’t blame kiké at all
most/all players want to play every day
and now that he has a ring...
that said, i’ll definitely miss him
in addition to last year’s LCS heroics, i'll never forget his 3 hr game against the cubs in 2017

Hammerin' Hank is a great nickname, but I preferred what Vin called him.............Bad Henry.

RIP truly the greatest HR hitter ever.

I met Al Downing at a shoe store in Encino the day before they went to Atlanta and I asked him straight out if he thought Hank was going to hit it off him. He leaned all the way down to me and told me face to face, "Son, I'm going to be on highlight reels til' the end of time" and he winked.

Kiké's blast was pretty damn epic. Even as unhappy as I've been with the game for awhile now.... big time bitchen.

As for Bad Henry ... total stud. Fuck Bonds forever. Long live Hank Aaron, the homerun king.

He's Puerto Rican? I swear to God thought he was jewish.
I wonder if I subconsciously thought that due to the name.

That sounds like a scene added to a movie for dramatic effect.

Yeah. That does have a cinematic quality to it.

Truthfully, why not serve up a meatball to Hank there anyway? It's week one of a new season and he's one away from the blast, at home, Hank was universally liked and respected by his peers, unlike a certain steroid-infused fuckface that easily half the league detested ...

Aaron deserved a grooved fastball, dead middle. Why not?

And if anyone wanted to be remembered in a visual sense alongside that landmark homer, it was Buckner. He admitted that he leapt on the LF wall for looks. He knew he had zero chance to reach that ball. But like Downing, Billy Buck knew everyone would see that footage forever after. Why not showboat a bit?

As for Courtenay & Gaston, the two dipshits who chased Aaron and clapped him on the back ... well, Hank was typically gracious about it years later.

My Dad remarked at the time that they probably scared the shit out if Aaron in the moment. The guy had been facing death threats for a year as he approached the record. If those crackers hadn't been so lucky, they might have gotten their heads busted for that stunt.

Gonna miss the Banana Boy. I’d never named a pet after an athlete before, but we named the bird Kikè since it’s loud and has a colorful personality. My Jewish wife’s sister is not a fan of the spelling though. I wasn’t always his biggest supporter, but he was one of those dudes you just loved seeing on your bench. As much as I wish he was a career Dodger, he deserves a chance to start and I hope he gets that with Boston.
