GAME THREAD ASTROS/DODGERS World Series

I hate baseball in the month of October. Yeah, there are some great moments but far too much pain. I just want this to be over and I hope we win.

 

Be strong. It's only Game 3 now.

The reason this team struggled so much in August and September is that NOBODY fucking stepped up in the pen. We all knew Kenley and Morrow were fine, I believed in Maeda, the Tony's seemed to be solid locks against LHH, but everyone else down the stretch faltered. So they basically had to fall back on the guys that were good the longest parts of the season to fill the remaining slots, even when those guys had been terrible. I would almost rather have had Buehler out there pumping 100 MPH over fucking Stripling or god damned McCarthy who has shown no ability to pitch out of the pen.

We traded Yordan Alvarez, recently signed from Cuba, for Fields last season. He is the #4 prospect in the Astros system and is coming off a season where he hit .304/.379/.481 across two A levels in his age 19 season. A lot of talk that this dude is going to be a beast.

 

You don’t rebound from a loss like that, sorry. If they do, they are absolute champions. But I bet you anything, deep down, they feel the same as me. Kenley served up the World Series on a 0-2 pitch, and Dave had no plan B.

 

Yup. Roberts mismanaged the fuck out of this game. Taking Hill out too early, bringing in maeda too soon and bringing in Kenley for 6 fucking outs. Stripling shouldn’t have been in this game and Morrow was prob left in too long as well. We blew this game. Plain and simple. Hopefully it doesn’t come back to bite us in our ass.

 

When you're not producing at the plate, you're forcing your pitchers to be perfect.

None of those stooges should have been factors in the game.

 

I still don’t know how fucking Marwin Gonzalez hits that ball out and Cody’s ball stayed in. That shit is gonna haunt me until Friday

 

Roberts over thinks the game. We have quality players that have hid this and he's has been right a lot more than he's been wrong this season. I still say that we Yu on Friday and Kersh on Sunday. You have to love that.

 

Really hurt when they didn't take advantage of the Gurriel error.

Infield in, one out and Joc is trying to upper cut high fastballs. No adjustment to the situation. One of the stupidest players I've ever seen.

 

No doubt. I’m more upset we blew this game. Could have took a strangle hold on this series and we let them back in it. Everyone expected us to lose anyway I guess. But to lose the way we did is frustrating as fuck

Turner should've walked before Culberson's HR if not for a trash call on the 1-1 pitch I think it was

Laz Diaz is a cuck, who the fuck runs to a spot without LOOKING where the ball is going? Maybin was shifted to RCF that ball could've gone all the way to the wall possibly because he hooked that throw big time with velocity

Then Taylor pops up on a 2-0 pitch with the winning run on second on a hanger because he overswung and tried to hit the ball out when we didn't need that. That was the problem with hitting tonight, everyone was only trying to hit the ball out, have 5 hits and 4 are homers, that is inexcusable

And now they go home with three games at home, all the momentum, and their bats are alive

 

The only thing I can say is idk if I’m willing to say that their offense is alive and/or rolling. Give credit to where credit is due, they scored 2 off Morrow/Jansen, but scoring 4 off of Fields/McCarthy is a lot less impressive. Darvish can shove just like Kersh did game 1 and it’s 2-1 with CK looming again.

 

Pretty crazy game but it sucks we lost!!!! 1st loss when leading after 8, bound to happen but doesn't make it feel any better. Key play for me was when we had a runner on 3rd with 1 out and didn't get a sac fly???? Ah well we need to steal the momentum early but McCullers has been lights out in Houston so we are going to need the recent Yu Darvish to stifle their offense.
