pretty much what we already knew/expected... Chad Billingsley likely out for seasonUpdated: September 5, 2012, 2:41 AM ETBy Mark Saxon | ESPNLosAngeles.comLOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Dodgers got mixed news on their bullpen Tuesday, learning that closer Kenley Jansen will return Sept. 17, but that Chad Billingsley -- whose role would have been in relief if he returned -- likely is lost for the season.A cardiologist informed Jansen he could come off blood-thinning medication in 10 days, meaning he could be back on a field competing a few days after that. Jansen said he "definitely" will be pitching again in 2012.He said he will undergo an ablation procedure after the season, hopeful it will take care of the off-and-on irregular heartbeat, known as atrial fibrillation, he has been experiencing since last season."That's a relief," Jansen said. "We know where we're going with this."Billingsley is scheduled to receive another injection of platelet-rich plasma in his right elbow, according to manager Don Mattingly, and Mattingly said it's unlikely Billingsley will pitch again this season."It's hard to think we're going to get Bills back," Mattingly said. The Dodgers also placed Javy Guerra on the 15-day disabled list after he strained an oblique muscle and recalled Josh Wall from Triple-A Albuquerque.
just rest him and get ready for next year already. not like this milquetoast bunch is going anywhere anyway.
Agreed, I hope they focus on 2013 now. Don't fuck with something that will screw him over for another year
We could really HATE this A-Gon deal in a big way here soon. I'm not saying that this deal will bust but Josh Hamilton sure would have been nice.
A-Gon is not under market, the dude is making 20M and he came with a ton of baggage in Crawford. Hamilton is also the better player.
Anybody think A-Gon can make the switch to 3B? Then we sign Hamilton and move Ethier to 1B. Our offense will continue to lick donkey cock but the lineup will look cool
If we truly wanted Hamilton, ownership would find a way to get it done. They've proved that already with A-Gon.
I think ownership is set on letting Crawford play left. That is, unless they're just fucking with everybody (which could be a possibility as well).
because then we'd have 5 outfielders signed long term. Crawford would be useless and Puig would be even further down in the depth chart. it just doesnt make sense. we need to focus on the bullpen, sign 1 or 2 relievers. get the ball to a Jansen easier.
For how much were gonna owe Gonzales, look at what Puljols, Fielder, Votto, Howard are sign on for. And Hamilton doesn't have his "baggage"? Hah.
