There is another possibility and that is Sands in right. Has anyone heard Ned or Dre say much lately about his future with us? Hopefully someone has.

Has any team with a managerial opening interviewed Wallach?

Perhaps Andre has to be the first issue for a new owner?

i'd give Ethier a 3/30 extension, but he wont go for that

so thats why we need to trade him

I don't understand the massive Ethier dislike here. Not saying I love the guy, but I definitely really want him to be a Dodger and a great one at that. I'd take any guy that can hit .280/25/90 on my team and value it at more than $10 a year.

He just didn't like Torre and doesn't like Ned or McCunt, but who can blame him?

People don't like him because it's become the worst thing in the world to have a friend on an opposing team

I don't really dislike Andre. I just hate that he can't hit lefties and sucks defensively, outside of this past season. If we could sign him at an annual salary around 10-12 million, I'd be cool with that.

Nobody hates Dre, don't where that came from but he had an off year and given his track record he will be back. He's signed through 2012 and there wasn't a threat by his agent to go FA or a no negotiating during season ultimatum like Kemp so let's not make him a priority YET.

Ethier better be a Dodger. I'll fuck up whoever lets this beast get away. In a real lineup, you have a guy who can put up MVP offensive numbers even with sucking against lefties. The dude can mash.

No dislike of Dre here. My worry is whether McCourt will cough up the bucks to get it done. I assume he like Loney needs to be tendered by December 12 and with the winter meetings coming up I am hoping to hear something from Ned about Dre being here or from Dre saying he expects to be here.

The question is will and can Ned afford to pay what Dre wants or what arbitration decides. That might dictate what happens and it seems like that other than Kemp things are being done on the cheap. Extending Kemp and paying him 1o million for next year is a lot cheaper than what one year would have cost under arbitration or a straight one year contract. Either of one would have been about 16 million according to estimates. So Frank saved himself/new owner about 6 million as he will be done with it all after that. Depending on sale date Frank might have to pay part of the salary for next year.

^My post is all about priorities and there isn't anything urgent for this regime to consider regarding Dre. He is under contract all next year and his agents haven't made an ultimatum unlike Kemp did. Dre can wait.

There is plenty of room for Sands in a triangle with Loney and Rivera between LF and 1B
Sands fits perfectly as a guy who fills exactly their weaknesses.
So as a platoon situation of sharing 2 positions between 3 guys its almost perfect.
    If thats what they do.

This is not a bad thing Irish, everything there is good for the Dodgers.
Kuroda wants too much money and doesnt really care about winning.
He would be fine signing with the Angels if they wanted to pay him what we pay him.
    The market knows this.
But there is always some idiot that fucks up the market and will sign him to a contract that a lot of people feel he doesnt merit.

so would i if the guy could field his position
if he cant then if he could move to a position he could better field
Ethier has the option of 1B or LF
LF is the most likely and where he should be playing
in a platoon with someone who can mash lefties would be great

Attached is the most up today True Blue LA payroll estimate for 2012. Note that with the estimates for Loney and Eithier they have our salary at $107,000. If you feel that is a realistic amount based on what you have read great. If you feel it is low even greater. However if from what you have read you expect it to be lower have a go at how you would shave it at this point and by how much? Note how much of it is going for players who probably/won't be with us but are owed.

What is amazing is that about $22K is for players who will not be on the roster as of now. Thats enough for a Fielder.

Ethier reminds me of Princess Peach off Super Mario's. I dislike his inability against lefties, a lot. When facing a lefty the lineup should be tweaked so he is hitting 6-8, but I doubt he would be a huge fan of that. The whole leg debacle was a huge putoff for me too.

I do admire his verbal outbursts when he K's though, hilarious.
