Should read 22 million for players not on the 40 man roster. Manny, Jones, Pierre, Furcal etc etc etc and the buyout options for Blake and Garland etc etc,.

guys, i dont want to get rid of him if we could sign him for a reasonable deal. but if he wants to be paid like a borderline franchise guy, 2 time all-star, then time to move on.
we have zero position players in the minors and ethier is at least an attractive commodity

Yeah read an article last night slamming our minor league position player quality. It noted that many of our better ones are 25 years old etc.

I think they will sign a Gwynn Jr. type (if not the Jr. Gwynn himself): A utility OF'er who can play back up LF (moving Rivera to 1B on occasion), back up CF , hit for average as a pinch hitter and pinch run when called upon. A hungry player who can keep the heat on the three OF starters. (Well, maybe this doesn't sound like Gwynn too much). Sands is not this species of player - he is a developing power hitter who probably needs consistent play to keep his swing up. Sands will end up in the minors, and come up only if Rivera is seen flailing out there on the outfield grass. But Ned wants to send young Jerry to the Pirates because that's where all the Dodger rookies go. Sands can only be rescued by firing Ned Colletti.

A lifetime ERA of 5.40 and 4.5 BB per 9.
I hate to curse, as it is well known, but this is the action of a motherfucking stupid cocksucker. WTF , you POS?
    Nothing personal.

if we trade him, I'd be cool with it if we get a good return. if we resign him, I'd be cool with it if it wasnt 15 M per yr or some stupid shit like that

its called feeling out rosters. We need players and depth at all levels of play A AA AAA . If we have spots available they are gonna sign seasoned pros even if they are lifelong minor leaguers. They are not gonna sign some 18-21 year old free agent kid just because hes young

Yeah our cup isn't running over with minor league prospects much less major league ones. We are weak at the upper minor league level with players to field a competitive team around our legitimate prospects.

    Broxton Likely to Sign Soon
By Zach Links [November 28 at 12:13pm CST]

MONDAY, 12:13pm: A friend of Broxton tells Joel Sherman of the New York Post that all things being equal, the reliever wants to be close to his Georgia home. Sherman finds the Braves unlikely, but thinks the Marlins or Rays make sense. Abbott told Dylan Hernandez of the L.A. Times this morning that a tentative deal should be reached in the next few days, but his client won't be returning to the Dodgers.

SUNDAY, 8:40pm: Jonathan Broxton's agent, BB Abbott, doesn't think his client will wind up signing with the Mets but does think that he could sign somewhere soon, tweets Mark Hale of the New York Post. Broxton underwent arthroscopic elbow surgery in September and pitched just 12 2/3 innings for the Dodgers last season.

Last Sunday it was reported that more than ten teams are interested in the 27-year-old and the Blue Jays are among the teams in the mix. Ben Nicholson-Smith took a look at Broxton's free agent stock in late September and predicted a one-year deal with plenty of incentives.

Probably still to young for Ned and not enough teams yet. Let him bounce to 4-5 more teams over the next 7 years with the last part of year 7 being in the minors and he will be a prime Ned prospect and get signed in November of 2018 or so.

Personally I only look at the payroll as the ON FIELD PRODUCT. So 107M is absurd.
