Good win. Wood has pitched really well the last few starts. His command could still use some improvement, but overall really good.
Hoping Rollins has something left in the tank come playoffs, because he's not the best option at shortstop.
If we make the playoffs.. do we put Seager on the playoff roster in Guerrero's spot?? I think Guerrero will just K every time if he has a role as a pinch hitter on the post-season roster.
Not that it's that straight forward, but Seager over Guerrero 100/100 times. Guerrero is done as a Dodger when the regular season ends.
This last win ensures we haven't lost a series since the one in Houston. Getting hot in September. Just need some of the bats to wake up and we'll start rollin!!
Seager over Guerrero is a no-brainer. But, is he eligible for a playoff roster spot as a September call up? Hope so.
Not even that complicated, he would be allowed to replace another player because of the players on the 60-day DL (McCarthy, Ryu and Arroyo).
I don't think so...a player needs to be on the roster on Aug. 31st. I'd love to hear/read the spin on DBB/FO why this was "fine"...if the injury thing is kosher, then it is fine.
The key is that he has to be in the organization by Aug. 31. That's all. So if he's not on the 25-man or 40-man rosters, he then needs to be used to take the place of an injured player on those rosters as of the end of the regular season (with permission from the commissioner's office).
Los Angeles Dodgers @Dodgers 14m14 minutes ago Today's bums: Rollins SS Crawford LF Gonzalez 1B Turner 2B Ethier RF Seager 3B Ellis C Pederson CF Anderson P Happy Seager Day :kike:
I hope this means Grandal is going to be given a week or two off to recover, and not just sit one day. Great to see Seager back in the lineup. This gets Utley a day off and makes him a key bat off the bench. Rollins (despite yesterday) and Crawford have been hot. Need Gonzo and Turner to knock them in today. Did I read somewhere that Anderson leads the league in ground balls (sounds painful) percentage? Seager could be tested at third today.
To me, the battle is between Seager and Peraza Assuming everyone is healthy come playoffs (which is not a lock to happen), you have the bench as SVS, CC (or whichever other extra OF), Enrique, Ellis, Utley, and then one spot left over I would bet that the last spot is a battle between Peraza and Seager, and they decide between a need for a better hitter or speed off the bases If one of Puig, Enrique, and Howie stay hurt then I bet both Peraza and Seager make it
