Spent the last 5 days visiting daughter, grandson and brand new granddaughter in Hudson, Oh, about 35 miles or so south of Cleveland. It isn't Cleveland and it certainly isn't Cinci, a suburb of Kentucky. It's a white (no racist) collar community of about 30,000 with no graffiti, Mom and Pop stores and downtown with a clock tower. Place screams of Leave it to Beaver. Great schools, too. Wish our family was a little closer to us geographically, but I can't imagine a better place to raise kids. Going home to 105 degree plus heat in the San Joaquin Valley today. Not that it's comfortable here (90 degrees with 70 percent humidity.
Sounds like a wonderful place...just irks me when people put down places like that as boring and "not cool". Places like that are the backbone of traditional America, however fleeting and however dismissed.

The older I get, the less patience I have for traffic, noise, and congestion associated with a large metro area. We're looking now to make a move to smalltown, USA. Maybe not Mayberry small, but somewhere with a rural feeling. I don't care if people call that boring.
