Fuck development... for $40M he'd better be able to hit a curve or slider and hit .300/30HR at once.

If as a 21 year old he could come to the MlB and hit .300 with 30 HRs then he would have gotten more than a 100 mil like significantly more

I dont mean to sound condescending, but this is a good deal in terms of the market. It is a lot of money but it's what you pay, it's a different type of contract thought then when drafting someone or signing a FA

Hey, he might bust and oh shit that happens. But the Dodgers feel he can be a productive major leaguer, and if you put a lot of prospects at 21 up for sale, this is around the money they'd probably get. This is new ownership and it's exciting as hell to see, spending money in any way they can to build up a farm system will be great down the road

point is, they were drafted. you don't give prospects 100 million. plus there are rules that dont allow that anyway but if a 21 yr old cuban could hit 300 with 30 homers he'd get a josh hamilton deal

    Compared to Sammy Sosa.

But right now hes overweight. 6'3" 230 is too much.
Hopefully he gets down to ~215-220

    Goldstein and Parks on Puig

The Dodgers signed Puig and it's a crazy deal. CRAZY. Puig had a workout in Mexico, and to call it a workout is a joke. Took batting practice, which was very impressive. Hit a lot of homeruns in BP. Caught some balls in the OF lobbed them back in and never ran. His speed is supposed to be an important to his game and he looked out of shape. However his BP was impressive. Gave up 42M, more than Soler, seemed irresponsible. Dodgers fans, on edge as it is understandably--Ned is their Gm. Loney is the first baseman and they're averaging like .3 runs a game since Matt Kemp was injured. If i was a Dodgers fan--my reaction would be its totally awesome. Its an indication of whats going to happen with the new ownership. Since 1959, there has never ever been an excuse for them to operate like the Yankees of the west. Who cares if they are irresponsible when spending because they can eat their loses. They can take many risks, because they can "buy a replacement." [Parks feels its irresponsible/reckless to spend so much]. KG feels Dodger fans should be excited. Both JP and KG think the Dodgers are the most likely landing spot for Hamels in 2013.

These are unique times because the new CBA limits what you can spend for now until maybe forever so players are taking advantage. PLUS THERE WAS A HIGHER BID!!!

idk if you're a part of the BP Up and In facebook group, but I asked if they were gonna have a Los Angeles event and then the CEO/President of BP Joe Hamrahi responded saying they are planning one on August 25th! If Parks and Goldstein are there I'm so going

If he is really 37 years old, Logan White could be working at a used car lot before you know it.
