I'm really not sold on this. A lot of fucking money for a guy I highly doubt is worth it. It's not that it is my money or anything, but did the Dodgers even scout him mcuh? Or did they see a deadline and just decide to throw more money at a guy inferior to the last 2 Cubans to get deals? I know nothing about this kid. But I am surely not stoked and jumping out of my seat because it looks like they did this just to prove something.

I like that we paid this guy so much and he's never stepped on a MLB field yet.
We can pay whoever seems good, is good, doesn't turn out good, all the money in their deepest of all pockets. Who gives a shit after Uribe and Schmitt and Jones and Manny and Pierre and on and on...if he sucks? On to the next guy - let's make him a multi-millionaire then, I say.

To who? this guy isn't gonna be anywhere near ready for years. Maybe you're right...at least it's not a continuation of has been old guys that have a good two weeks or so, then hibernate like a bear for the rest of the season. Or like Urinebe, who didn't even have two good weeks.

This guy Pujols has a strange swing as well. He seems to do alright. I too love the raw power potential.

No he doesn't. His swing ridiculously sound. His batting stance is strange but his swing is perfect.

Opinions vary obviously but it's not like this signing has hamstrung our ability to get other players like it was in the past. Time will tell.

It sounds like this deal - 7 years/42 million - has shaken up the world of signing baseball prospects.

I know nothing of optimism. As I say that Capuano gives up a base hit.

    Enough said

I'm just having trouble processing 40+ million for someone almost nobody knows anything about. 40+ million.

+1 million. Not my money, but that's still a crapload of money. I hate giving unproven prospects a lot of money. Sure some scouting reports say he's got the raw talent, but how much do we really know about him?
