Wow what a great game to go to! Greinke stepped up big time and the boys brought their bats! Except for Crawford; looking like a fucking asshat out there. We don't need you or anything man...

Anyway, sweet game. Let's win another tomorrow with Nolasco!

Hopefully when Hanley, Puig and AJ cool down M. Ellis, Crawford, Gonzo and to a lesser extent Ethier (who is approaching what we expect of him) can pick it up. I know this winning streak won't last forever and we will inevitably slip into some slumps, but with the depth in our lineup if when half go cold and the half gets hot we may be able to prevent prolonged slumps, which no other team in baseball can really do. Perhaps wishful thinking though.

This little run reminds me of 2006 after we traded for Maddox, when I became a Dodger fan. Jeff Kent and J.D Drew both out at home, awesome, awesome times.

Yep, we have to make up for the last 4 months this lineup(minus Puig) has disappointed us to the max. Maybe we can keep it going, although like N.Z. said, guys will slump and others have to step it up. CC will make an impact soon enough.

Mark Ellis has got to go. If he wasn't such a great defender he'd be gone.

    (There's my MLBN analysis).

OK, the Mark Ellis bashing has to be stifled until someone proves that he's as bad as you all say. Is he all around near the worst 2B in baseball? I'd bet he's around the average mark. I know he's struggling, but he was kickin ass before he got injured. He's a little streaky but he does do somethings not in the boxscore(I know, but it's true).
One thing I really like about his offense, whether he's hitting or slumping he always sees a lot of pitches. This is more valuable to the team than people realize. The ellis brothers alone work the counts of starting pitchers a lot and it helps to wear them down. He also is a good productive out often...well more often than the rest of the guys.

So seriously, how does he rank amongst other second basemen? Do we really expect to have big named, high priced, super players that are mediocre to shitty fielders at every position?
And as noted on Dodgertalk...Ellis and Uribe lack some hitting talent but excel in defensive steadiness....another problem this team has. Errors!

I didn't notice until just now on the highlights, but did anyone see Hanley trolling Parra on 2B? ha!

Actually, Skip Schumaker is with a -1.3 WAR (lmao).

Mark has a 0 WAR and is the 43rd best second baseman among second baseman with at least 10 ABs.

I saw it on QuickPitch (MLB Network). AJ Ellis flies out to CF. Hanley retreats to 2B. Parra tried to get Hanley out. Hanley is safe and stares out to Parra and gives him a long golf clap.

The Parra made a gesture like "I dare you to on on me" (bkitch)

Okay well I increased the sample size to 100 PAs and he ranks 36/54.

    200 PAs: 23/30.

Punto has been more valuable than Ellis. Dodgers need an upgrade. I know we've been linked to this guy like 394593 times, but Daniel Murphy would be cool.

    LOL, awesomeness.
I was thinking about what you said earlier on the Puig bat flip tonight. I was against it but I'm with it now remembering this is the AHole Gibson/Kennedy DBags. We should pimp everything.

No man, go to full time...like 250-300 PA. Scutariod has 290 ABs.
And Punto was stud for almost 2 months.

Ellis only has 215 ABs so he wouldn't qualify.

    2nd Basemen with at least 200 PA's

Ellis ranks 18th in AVG at .252, OBP ranks 22nd at .300, SLG% at .338 ranks 23rd, OPS at .638 ranks 23rd, wOBA at .281 ranks 23rd (at .290 and below is considered awful), wRC at 20 ranks 24th,and his wRC+ at 79 ranks 22nd

    2nd basemen with at least 100 PA's

Ellis ranks 25th in AVG, 33rd in OBP, 37th in SLG%, 36th in OPS, 36th wOBA, 28th in wRC, and 35th in wRC+

Basically the guy is really fucking bad with the bat.
