Looking at the 40 man roster and what not, we have 1 spot open and we have the following players on the 60 day DL who might be expected back and we'd need a spot for: Kershaw, Wood, Ethier, and Trayce

Obviously, none of those are guarantees but could make a good argument that all 4 of those are really needed so you can't justify keeping them on the DL to end the season.

So that means we need at least 3 more players on the 40 man to be removed for these guys, and then make it 4 if we want JDL up.

With hitters, we won't DFA or 60 day DL any of the current outfielders. With infielders, we have Micah, Culberson, and Chris Taylor who aren't really that justified on a MLB roster. I can't see them DFA'ing Micah after trading for him this offseason, and you probably need at least 1 of Taylor/Charlie or else you're left with only 2 dudes on the roster who can play SS. Let's say they DFA one of those (Charlie). We have 1 of 4 needed!

So, the other 2/3 would probably come from the pitching side of things. Carlos Frias hasn't pitched in forever and so they could easily put him on the 60 day. Now we need 1-2 more, and that essentially comes down to DFAing pitchers you think are useless. The group of these pitchers realistically is Bud Norris, Ravin, Fien, and/or Brett Anderson (he could go on 60 day but he just has a blister)

The rest of the pitchers I can't see them letting go for JDL. The 4 pitchers I mentioned I'm not sure if I can realistically see them being DFA'd just cause the first 3 could be looked at as good bullpen pieces and Brett will be given a lot of chances to start IMO.

So, I wrote all this out to try and see myself what the scenarios are. Maybe they surprise us and go for it, seems like DFAing/60 day DL for Fien, Charlie, and Frias would be easy

His velocity was supposedly way down leading up to that disastrous start and the word was that after it, it had not ticked up a huge amount either. I really hope he is starting to get that back, but I'm not holding out hope that this FO brings him up. Apparently Kazmir, Anderson and McCarthy are all about to be back with Kershaw as well in the picture. It would be really interesting if they tried to piggy back start McCarthy and Anderson since they are both coming off of major surgeries. Kershaw, Hill, Maeda, Kazmir, McCarthy/Anderson. 3-4 from McCarthy and 3-4 from Anderson would be an interesting way to go to the postseason. Could also try to slip De Leon in there to do a six man rotation, Maeda gets his extra day of rest, Hill has more time to heal between starts and the club sees what they have in De Leon if he is to be needed in a game 3 or 4 scenario. Seriously, every starter at this point is a red alert injury risk, why not bring up the kid who has #2 stuff in the event you don't want to throw Bud fucking Norris in game 2?! As @doyerfan said, it really is not that hard to open up the 40 man spot right now as I don't see Wood or Trayce coming back this season since neither seems to be doing baseball activities at the moment. 60 Day Frias when Kershaw comes back and DFA Fien when Ethier comes back.

I'll be interested to see who the Dodgers send up from AA to AAA at the end of their season. Verdugo, Calhoun and Bellinger each warrant a move up for the home stretch. As does De Jong, Farmer and potentially Garlick. OKC should be losing Barnes, Coleman, Johnson, Puig, Taylor, Fields and yes De Leon.

Bellinger up to 22HRs in a snap.
Seems like he had around 12 a little over a month ago.

Good to see him end on such a strong note. Frustrating start to the year after the word in camp was that he looked great. Going to be interesting to see what all that pop down in Tulsa does in the PCL.

Bellinger needs to have SVS job next year as a backup LF/1B and eventually take over for Agon.
Against lefties this year his AVG is like 15-20 pts better, his SGL is a hell of a lot better but his OPB is worse. Which means he probably is more careful against righties and plays it safe trying to draw walks.
But the year before it was the opposite. In fact his power was incredibly weak against lefties.
    Dude still figuring it out.

That hasn't been the case for him at all. Since last season he has cut his K rate, greatly upped his BB rate and maintained, if not improved, his powerful stroke in a much more pitcher friendly environment. He had an injury that he was slow to come back from in the first half and he had a stretch of games that greatly inflated his first half BA numbers. Scouts think he's the real deal and his marked improvement across the board from last season shows that. Right now his biggest nemesis is that he has had some horrible BABIP luck and he needs to stay healthy. Last off season he took his routine way more seriously, could be interesting to see what another similar one could do for him. He's still young and will only be 21 next season, no reason to bring him up to lose AB's probably until September and he should be in AAA. Not to mention, like the other top prospects, he's a LH bat and wouldn't be taking AB's from SVS and AGon never takes a day off anyway.
I would not be shocked if he and De Leon are top 20-25 prospects next season. Especially if Bellinger has a strong showing in the AFL.

yeah i had a bad feeling about what i had just posted right after i hit reply
so i edited it out a bit
he seemed to have been super hot in AUG this year and also last year.
AUG is his best month by far the past two years
which means he is being challenged by the change in level but then crushes it as he becomes accustomed to the bigger challenges
    thats a good sign

Yeah it'd make zero sense to have Bellinger in the bigs backing up guys and losing ABs.
His time will come, seems like yesterday we were saying the same about Corey and Julio.
Until then Adrian will likely keep motoring along and Trayce and Toles are prime in house candidates for the corners.
