He's been playing 2nd and is listed as so on the prospect list.

Well the big club has been a joke tonight, but things went well for Tulsa.

    De Jong: 6IP, 4H, 0R, 2BB and 8Ks. Set a new career high with 141 2/3 innings.

    Bellinger: 4/4, 2HR(22), 6RBI(63).

To me Bellinger is a September 2017 call-up and in 2018 my guess is he will be a full time major leaguer. He's still considered raw at 21 as of today so who knows but he continues to get stronger and stronger.

My uneducated guess is best case scenario is sometime next year, if he keeps demolishing the ball at AA and eventually Triple A, and some injuries speed up the need, he might get a taste of the big leagues in his age 21/22 season but that's best case, aggressive scenario.

If his progression keeps going smoothly I'd say realistic scenario is maybe a late season cal up next season with 2018 being the first season he'll have a legit shot at being a regular on the team. Their patience with him I think will have a lot to do with the MLB team, and if he's able to prove he can play outfield at a major league capable level

Well this year he did a great job of cutting down strikeouts (about 8%) and has in fact increased walks in fewer PAs, and at the same time, the power didn't go into the crapper despite leaving Cal League.

If he comes up next year before September (doubtful, but possible), it will likely be in an OF role, as we have seen Adrian can still hit. But next September just to give him a taste of big league life is probably a good guess.

De Jong has a had a super underrated great season. Every time I look up he's throwing a good game. Probably never a top half rotation guy but damn the Dodgers stole him for (Interntional slot money) I think?

Blue Jays trade Chase Dejong and Tim Locastro to Dodgers for more international pool money.

His ceiling appears that of a #3 or 4 depending on who you ask.

And that would be a hell of a coup for LA if he's even a serviceable fill in guy

But damn he looks good... 22 not old either

LoCastro hasn't torn up AA but he's been solid so far.

I think I heard that the team has not announced the pitcher's they plan to send down there yet. Wouldn't be shocked if Buehler and Alvarez get some innings.

from bowden's prospects to watch article...
    • Jose De Leon, RHP, Los Angeles Dodgers: Since a borderline disastrous outing July 25, in which De Leon didn't make it out of the second inning for Triple-A Oklahoma City, De Leon has been one of the best pitchers in minor league baseball. It's not smoke and mirrors, either; the right-hander touches the mid-90s with his fastball, and his excellent arm speed creates deception for his plus changeup. Add in a competent slider and the ability to not only throw strikes but hit his spots with all of his pitches, and we have a guy who is ready to pitch in the majors. With the Dodgers firmly entrenched in the playoff race, he could be a valuable part of their pitching staff down the stretch.

Is Sept 1 the first date for roster expansion?

We need a pitcher heavy call up in my opinion.

Yup, they said they'd call up Barnes, Coleman, Ravin and Avilan. A few more will trickle in as the days come, such as Fields, Baez, and Stewart
