Perhaps, not sure if time is our friend tho with this schitzo team.
But because he's better, among other factors such as other teams showing interest if he is made available, have to expect the price to be higher for CarGo and LAD's been unwilling to load up their high level specs.
And thank god since Corey Seager would be playing for the Rays right now.
@ColoradoKidWitGame and myself were talking about the price for Bruce being say Grant Holmes, considering outside interest.
    For Gonzalez...

Levine reveals a conversation he had with an unnamed general manager about the Rockies' outfielder:

Gonzalez hit 40 homers and had 97 RBIs last season. The money for Gonzalez and what the Rockies front office is asking for in return appear to be the holdup right now.

"They asked for my top two minor league players, a major league player and to absorb most of the contract," said a general manager who was interested in Gonzalez. "We will wait for something more realistic."

i'll never forget late in his career when he was the 1b coach but still on the active roster
was at a game where lasorda called him away from 1b to hit
line drive base hit to center, pinch runner, back to 1b to coach
    good times

My Manny moment was this game in '71.

Manny hits a bases loaded double in the top of ninth to give the Dodgers the lead and Hoyt Wilhem (yes, Hoyt F. Wilhelm) comes in to get Willie Mays for the final out.

    the weather huh?
seems to me the weather was still there in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th
oh, i see, "you cooled off" and "woke up"
glad to see you be making adjustments for your next outing
weird how that weather didn't affect liriano early
    must be home field advantage
    idiot

Kazmir says poor start was due to the weather
by Eric Avakian | Dodger Blue — 1 hour ago

After dropping the first three games of the series to the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Los Angeles Dodgers found themselves in an early deficit on Monday afternoon at PNC Park. A loss meant the Pirates’ first sweep of the Dodgers in a four-game series since 1944.

Scott Kazmir labored through the first inning, allowing four runs, two hits and walking three batters. The southpaw needed 40 pitches to get through the frame and appeared destined for a short outing.

However, as has been the case in multiple starts this season, the southpaw turned the corner and settled in. Kazmir set the Pirates down in order in the second, third and fourth innings. At point he retired 12 consecutive batters in a row.

He got through five innings of work and exited with a 5-4 lead. After the Dodgers’ come-from-behind victory, Kazmir explained his early struggles were perhaps due to the humid weather, and said he’s considering a change in his routine, via Ken Gurnick of MLB.com:

“Honestly, I didn’t feel like my energy was there, don’t know if the heat zapped me but I kind of felt under water that first inning,” he said. ” As soon as I got in the dugout, I cooled off and I woke up. We’re trying to get some answers [why]. I talked to [pitching coach Rick Honeycutt] about the way I felt, and maybe next outing we’ll do a simulated first inning to get that focus and adrenaline going instead of using all that [pregame] time to get loose. It doesn’t feel like I’m locked in.”
Kazmir’s final inning wasn’t without some stress as Andrew McCutchen reached on a two-out single and Jung-Ho Kang drew a walk. The 32 year old escaped the jam by getting Starling Marte to strikeout. McCutchen’s single in the fifth was the lone hit Kazmir allowed after the first inning.

The first inning has been Kazmir’s problem all season and the numbers indicate so. In the opening frame, he owns a 9.00 ERA and opponents are batting .342/.429/.479. Overall, Kazmir is 6-3 with a 4.67 ERA, 4.57 FIP and 1.32 WHIP.

Unbelievable that a veteran ML ballplayer thinks fans will read this and readily accept it as something valid, and just not scoff at it.

    • Padres outfielder Jon Jay has suffered a broken forearm, Darren Smith of Mighty1090.com reports on Twitter. He’ll be placed on the 15-day DL, with Alex Dickerson brought up to take his place on the active roster.
not that i'd ever wish an injury on anybody
but what... this couldn't have happened when he was on the cardinals?

Honestly, the Rockies may not and probably should not do anything with CarGo unless they get a huge haul. Their farm is really fucking good right now and the talent up and down is performing very well. They have intriguing young arms that are ready to help and a solid core of position players that they may not want to break up of CarGo, Blackmon, Arrenado, Story and LeMaiheu are a good start. I think they got Parra expecting to trade CarGo when Dahl was ready, but now Parra looks like a 4th or 5th OF'er. Their top prospects are a SS who many predict to be the top prospect in baseball in the next year or two and a 5 tool OF'er that could make for a dangerous combo in the OF with a Blackmon and CarGo. If you're the Rockies right now, it may be smarter to hold onto CarGo and see where you are next year at the trade deadline instead of moving him before then. If Hoffman comes up and deals, plus they've got Dahl in the lineup every day, they could be a very good team next year if their FO can land something decent for 1B and C.

And the ROX don't even have any terrible contracts that LAD could purchase and use as value toward the transaction either.
Reds already know that Bruce is the guy that best fits LAD's needs and that sort of sucks, LAD having OF talent coming through the pipe themselves, and Bruce's contract allowing for pretty good roster flexibility for farm purposes.
They make the most sense as trade partners right now.

Like you mentioned earlier, Yuly Gurriel is perhaps an OF option, but while I'd love to get him, if we're talking proven MLB thump that's ready to contribute right away then you have consider that we'd be waiting until sometime in early August for Gurriel and that's if all goes well.
And then how does Gurriel adjust to MLB pitching over say a month and a half, or 2 months left of the schedule once he's in?
That vs. Bruce's experience, readiness, and current performance.
That said, I wish LAD would add both Bruce and Gurriel ( both Gurriels actually), then let the chips fall where they may.
Perhaps Gurriel ends up taking 2B, or maybe they finally see Puig off and open up a corner for Gurriel, hard to say, but adding Gurriel wouldn't be just about this season either, so more depth and versatility moving forward.

Looks like something Sabean would say.
I don't blame whomever it was for saying that either.
CarGo is great, but that man is on the DL way too often to be trying to raid a team's top 2 specs + all the rest of whatever they wanted.
Plus he's already going on 31.
You give up all that young talent for CarGo and then he goes to the DL for 40-50 games :barf:
