What frustrates me is how everything has to he PERFECT for us to win. We can't have one flaw it seems like or we are toast. We are wasting seemingly great teams and players. Just waiting for everything to be perfect. "If we just get a power bat"...well then Kershaw has a down year and that doesn't work either, you know? It sucks. Other teams are flawed and win.

yeeeeeep. The Mets had flawed set up guys and made it work. Their offense struck out a lot and it worked out. They were cold to finish the season, worked out.

The Cubs have leaky set up guys, it was fine. They have scary #3 and #4 starters, didn't matter! They strike out a lot, who cares!

Blue Jays had all sorts of pitching issues, still moved on. The Royals, ugh I'm too lazy to keep going

Ok I'll bite. For all of you attacking me whatever, thanks for taking the bait.

The WAR argument, isn't our team watching from home?
So thank you for proving my point about WAR and the absolute nonsense associated with it. The Mets are a better team. War is a joke.

Thanks for calling me out personally without debating my points as well, I'm flattered. I thought higher of most of you you considering how long I've know some of you but, haven't heard any analysis. If we are taking sides fine whatever.

Doyer you grasping at straws. You were in the tank for every single one of these moves. To act like you can be such a pretentious homer douchebag sucking cock at the winter meetings and then oops changing your mind after is ok? No it's not stand by your shit.

Tell me which one of my trade analysis was wrong. The one where we trade the national league batting champ for a promising young pitcher to flip him for an aging 2 bagger in a contract year?

Or was it perhaps when we trade an OF that hit 265 (not good) for a catcher that hit 230 (even worse) oh or maybe the fact we are paying most of his salary...that's smart right?

Why haven't I read your posts? Well that's obvious, you are wrong on pretty much everything and hindsight backtracking doesn't make you right.

Btw I'd gladly take an IQ test side by side with you.

You name the place and time smart guy.

2013 was the year I believe. That would have been poetic. It not been the same since, as much as I want it to be.

The people saying to replace Ethier with Heyward do realize that Ethier had a better year than Heyward at the dish and the only difference is that Heyward is a lot better defensively. Heyward doesn't fix the problem of a legit power threat in the OF. Trading Puig should not happen this off season! This FO is all about getting something at its peak value, they are not about to trade away their potential star RF'er after an injury plagued season that saw him starting to turn it around at the end, before getting hurt again. The team needs a legit power threat in LF, I have no clue how they get it, but it is not gonna come at the expense of trading Puig.... but if it does get us Stanton I will shit myself in delight (it won't happen).

Hmm the number of times a guy goes to hit divided against the number of times he hits...

    Holy shit!

    Seriously?

I might be wrong on the timeline but I think he started sucking even before then, I remember him being in like a bad 2 week slump leading into the all star game

I mean, you need to get in the playoffs to have a chance to win the series right?
Dodgers had highest WAR total, mets had 2nd highest total. Top 6 teams according to war made playoffs and top 9/10

So in terms of making the playoffs I think we'll be okay and we're actually doing really good at that.

But the problem is having a roster that can win in the post season. I agree post season is a different animal than regular season. The 5/7 game series and the ability to throw out a pitcher twice in a series changes things. We saw how important a #3 is. Bullpen is super important too.
I think run prevention and defense is a good strategy for playoffs and is what we tried to improve on in the offseason
But we still need to score runs also

Thats why i'd be all in for JHey
Improves defense and gives us great offense as well
Better yet I rather make the craziest offer for Stanton...Thats one dude that would just put the lineup over the top

Cespedes and Upton are there for the taking. Upton's defense this year was actually pretty mediocre, but still better than Crawford.

Puig and Urias. Start there. Jason Heyward is nice and all, young too, but we really don't need LH bats.

Here are the only facts and anyone with half a brain knows this is the reality.

Sure as it stands this year some moves in retrospect of course dont look too good. But the reality is, its been one year. Unless you are a reactionary pea brain, you really cant make a judgement on the intelligence of friedman and his geeks just yet.

Its a tough thing ya know, winning a world series. A move here, a play here and the narrative changes.

Now emotions are running high I see and you may very well be right........in a few years of course, because if next year or the year after we do win, then you will be a loser. Only because you seem to have jumped the gun in order to be a 10 year old saying " I told ya so nanner nanner neener"

You were not right about anything yet and that is the reality.

All of us dodger fans hope around this time next year we will be singing the praises of friedman and co as we get that ring.

And I hope you will be celebrating as well. But most likely you will be too ashamed sitting in your damp computer room because you dont have proper heat or air conditioning thinking about what could have been your gold medal "gotcha" moment.

But I do hope you make it to your sloppy, jizz drenched keyboard and tell us all that you were wrong. It may be hard to muster up the courage to do so. It may hurt as you type one finger at a time to say those words.

But when you do, you will feel relief and will finally know what it feels like to drink the kool aid and become........... a "fan"
