    I can't quite put a word or expression on the fact that players, like Gonsolin, go out there and do whatever they do, and are shadows of their former selves because of injuries they've had and that were never revealed.
    So fans think it's a bad spell, that eventually goes to serious suckitude. Then, the guy disappears for a year or whatever. We watched it happen with Buehler, too.
    Now, it's revealed the Will Smith, of the months-long nosedive, has had a broken rib ( April 30) all the while. Now, I've had broken ribs, and playing professional baseball, especially as catcher, is mystery to me. Caucasian, please...
    Wtf is the purpose of all this clandestine bullshit ?
    At least if you are aware as a fan, you can admire the guy, instead of the natural letdown. What is the advantage if nobody knows? The competition can hit it if it's center cut, injury or not. The player can K with RISP, injury or not.
    The Dodgers can be the weirdest fucking team in the sport.
    Imo, part of the reasons why they are mostly ultimately losers.

    Pretty close to the final stake in the coffin for San Diego. Snell didn't allow a run but could only go 6 as he was at 100 pitches. Meanwhile Webb limits the Padres to 1 and pitches a complete game. Gnats score 2 in the 8th and hold on to win it.

    the wild card pisses me off
    phils and dbags are 13 and 14.5 back in their divisions and have no business going to the postseason

    Snell is a manager’s/pitching coach’s nightmare. Best ERA of any in MLB by a massive margin, but he averages <6 innings per start.

    Last night Josh Hader would not come into the game to face Conforto with 2 outs in the 8th. Hader said "Are we in the playoff race?" when asked why he did not want to pitch in the 8th.
    Bob Melvin hasn't used Hader once for 4 outs and Hader is a FA after 2023
    Selfish, or makes sense?

    Mariners shit the bed last night vs Houston. They're 1.5 GB them for the last WC spot in the AL. The Rangers lead the AL West by 2.5 games.

    Really hoping Houston somehow misses out on the postseason but would settle for them having to take a WC spot and not win the division. Go Rangers/Mariners(of course they play each other for 4 games to close the season).
