I would argue that DBB will ease Ellis back into it full time and give him a chance to get back to full strength. However, that would show intelligence and we see how much of that our management has when it comes to injuries.

Dustin ackley has never shown he can hit MLB pitching well and may never. His career OPS is lower than Ethiers current OPS, in which he's struggling. Sure, ackley plays 2B which is cool but as of right now he's not even a sure upgrade over mark And he's young and might figure it out,but being 25 he's had some time. Those yahoo guys and there speculative trades suck
But yeah he was a second overall pick in 09 and raped the minors. 25 years old and plays second base. Dre is an ex HGH 31 year old dude who can't hit lefties and is owed 85 million through his decline.
I think Ackley has the talent, I'm just not sure he'll ever reach his potenial. If it was straight up and we send no money, I'm down. But that would never happen.
Ackley fills a hole at 2B, while Ethier is on the choping block regardless Yeah Ackley hasn't shown too much since he's been in the bigs but he's been playing in Seattle for one He's hitting .400 in AAA in over 100 AB's But this is all for not, because that trade won't happen
