We win that trade 100%... don’t feed him

oops, sorry again rube
The Brewers are reportedly the front-runners to sign free-agent third baseman Mike Moustakas, but they’re facing competition from the Padres, who have prioritized finding a third baseman this offseason, are “going after” Moustakas, according to AJ Cassavell of MLB.com. San Diego first “checked in” on Moustakas earlier this winter, and Cassavell’s report indicates the club is legitimately in pursuit of the 30-year-old at this late stage of the offseason.
Jonathan Villar just doesn't know what to think anymore.
So that's why Dustin Nosler almost offed himself today, makes sense.

MadBum: 'If you use an opener in my game, I’m walking out of the ballpark'
by Tom Ruminiski <thescore.com>
Madison Bumgarner isn't a fan of the opener strategy. The San Francisco Giants left-hander sent a blunt text during the winter meetings to manager Bruce Bochy after hearing the team would consider using the strategy in 2019. Bochy spoke about the conversation while speaking with reporters on Saturday. "If you use an opener in my game, I’m walking out of the ballpark," Bumgarner said to Bochy, according to Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com. "It depends on how you’re pitching," Bochy replied, which prompted the Giants ace to reply with comments that can't be repeated, according to John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle. The opener - a bullpen game with a reliever starting - was first deployed by the Tampa Bay Rays last season with great success. More teams began to use it as the year progressed, including in the playoffs. Bullpen games are nothing new to baseball, however, the Rays started back-to-back games with the same reliever. The strategy defies the traditional role of a starting pitcher going through the lineup multiple times and pitching every fourth day due to rest.
Hopefully this means Farhan is gonna send us Madbum later.
Farhan will send us nothing unless he is ready to kill he reputation
nightenfail so fwiw
but if true, might actually play into friedman's hands -- or, dare i say, perhaps what he's planned all along
3-5 yr contract w/player opt outs would be great
and obviously we could better whatever the giants propose
farhan, bochy, baer can pontificate all they want about how great the meetings went
expect boras to do the same when it gets to crunch time
but if given the choice, who do you think harper (or anyone for that matter) would choose between us and the sfkags
again the source is questionable and, even if true, kasten et al would still have to actually ok an offer...
but it could be less optimistic
The Giants plan on making Bryce Harper a short-term, big-money offer, but they’re uninterested in giving him a long-term contract along the lines of the 10-year, $300MM proposal he rejected from the Nationals, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
Well, if it does work into AFs hands, it will be by divine providence. No way he could know the way the dominoes could have fallen, imo.
To me, looks like they 're still maintaining the Pontius Pilate stance.
But should he go to the Giants, without even a try by us to get him, it will be interesting spin, indeed out of LA.
Or, of course, handled.by the arrogance of Kasten, as previously.
Go fuck yourself pretty much amounts to the same, however you dress it up...not that he cares about a soft peddle.
The Pirates and outfielder Melky Cabrera have agreed to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training, Ken Rosenthal and Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic report. Cabrera will have a chance to earn up to $2MM the majors, per Jon Heyman of MLB Network.
Well, the Bucs got melk...
we're in wait and see mode
if harp goes to somewhere like philly, so be it
but if he goes to sf on a short-term deal without a counter from us it would be extremely disappointing, and imo inexcusable
It does sound like the Giants are getting ready to make him an offer. If they signed him to like a 10 year, 350M+ contract, I would probably be like "ok, whatever". If they end up signing him to some 3-5 year contract, I may have a meltdown.
no way we shouldn't be in on harper for 3-5 years
If the Gnats get Harper on a deal like that, I'm taking a big ol deal on Kasten and Friedman. Even though it still doesn't make the Gnats a contender, it is the kind of stupid decision making by the Dodger FO that makes us a perennial second place finisher....if even that.
Something tells me Kasten don’t give a fuck because the fans keep doing this But this fan won’t do it no more
