The trade that sent Yordan Alverez doesn’t look so bad anymore.

He’s getting surgery on both knees.

I completely understand how and why theyre doing the bubble and it being in Texas - it just fucking SUCKS that it's in stadiums that are aesthetically ugly. Dodger Stadium and Petco are two of the best in the game and although Angel stadium isn't my favorite, it's mostly just boring and basic. Minute Maid Park is a joke stadium that actually changes the game on the field and the one in Arlington has weird dimensions and park effects. Just gonna be annoying to see some cheap ass plays

Would be fun to win the NLC in Houston against another team from outside of Texas.
Specially if it is one of Houstons main rivals.
The local Houston based baseball fans disgusted at the Astros cheating but also haters of their local rival would turn Minute Maid Park into a Dodgers home field advantage.

My dream is for Kershaw to finally get over his playoff demons and win the World Series in Arlington as he was a Rangers fan growing up

Sorry, but Houston? What a fucking joke. Cheat, don't get punished, suck, get postseason games in your stadium. Manfred is a joke, and MLB is a joke for this. Bullshit.

    The travel maths:

OPTION 1) All games in Phoenix = 16 instances of travel
    (Rd 1 = 16 instances of travel, all other rounds = 0)
OPTION 2) All games at higher seed's park = 17 instances of travel*
    (Rd 1 = 8, Rd 2 = 4, Rd 3 = 2, WS = 3 (assuming you flip halfway through)).
*bonus: fans get to see their teams' ballparks
    OPTION 3) LA/SD & HOU/ARL Bubbles = 20 instances of travel**
    (Rd 1 = 16, Rd 2 = 0-4 based on results, but likely just 1, Rd 3 = 2-4 based on results, but likely 2, Rd 4 = 1.)
**could be as high as 25

That ballpark in Arlington is awful for home runs. It’s just wildly diffferent baseball in each of those stadiums and it could really affect a team, especially a team like the Dodgers that’s better than the rest but some fluke stadium affects the game

    • Mike Clevinger is reportedly available in trade talks ahead of the August 31 deadline. It's just going to cost teams a lot if they want to acquire him. According to MLB Network's Jon Heyman, the Cleveland Indians starter has been discussed in potential deals, but the asking price is "ridiculous." The 29-year-old righty won't be an unrestricted free agent until 2023 and is arbitration eligible over the next two seasons. With a 3.18 ERA, 21 strikeouts and 11 walks in 22.2 innings this season, he could certainly provide an immediate boost for a contender. With the Indians still in a battle for first place in the American League Central, it's understandable the team doesn't want to part with him at a discount.

I don’t know how exact locations will be decided, but if it gets broken up as A stadium and B stadium, with the #1 seed in the A stadium bracket - the Dodgers could play all their playoff games in Arlington.

I also wonder if this means their won't be any re-seeding between the first and second round, to reduce travel. It would increase the odds of us facing the Padres in the NLDS, assuming we finish as the 1 and 4 seeds, which is the most likely scenario ATM.

With all the uncertainty the dodgers should roll the dice and get the best available pitcher at the cost of top prospects.
And give them a big haul to go for Lindor as well.
Send them May, Santana, Ferguson, Beaty and David Price, Ross Stripling, Alex Wood, Chris Taylor and Austin Barnes.

We’d have no one left on the roster

Also where does Villar go in this?

Or, if we aren’t going to play Lux, and we know Cleveland likes Lux, pull a 3-way deal:

    Indians receive: Gavin Lux 2B/SS

Red Sox receive: Josiah Gray RHP, Triston McKenzie RHP

Dodgers receive: Mike Clevinger RHP, JD Martinez DH + cash (from Red Sox)

Chadwick Boseman, the actor who played Jackie Robinson in 42, passed away today from colon cancer at the age of 43. On Jackie Robinson Day (which was being celebrated on a different date than usual).
