Fuck me, I feel like such a dumb cunt. I audibly said out loud when Delores got sliced open and there were robotic parts inside what the fuck? I didn't even realise that the William and Logan storyline was in the past, and she was reliving it concurrently with the abandoned present. My girl (who is quite a dumb cunt when it comes to this shit) explained it to me after. Fucking idiot. Lol. So, William is the man in black?

Holy fuck, what a series. I can't believe how dumb I was that whole last episode though.

Yeah theres 3 time lines more or less
There was quite a bit of evidence throughout the series--namely the different fonts (westworld logo, the font on the can dolores drops etc) and the differing roles of the same characters

But in short theres the period arnold is alive/host turing tests. Around 34ish years ago. The time of the massacre (wyatt?) at escalante and the 'incident' (probably arnolds death)
William and Logan which is 30 years ago. Escalante is buried after the incident which is Dolores didnt see the city.
And present day which is MIB and Dolores retracing her steps and remembering her trek with William. We see Escalante has been excavated for Arnolds new narrative

The current theory is, as you said. william is the MiB. And he's trying to set the hosts free by traumatizing them
Hes also probably a voting board member of westworld since Logans company saved them financially.

But in regards to the episode itself, goddamn was it brilliant. HBO never fails to disappoint with E9.
Confirmed the timeline theory. Confirmed Arnold Weber = Bernard Lowe. MiB almost confirmed to be William

The writing of this show is so good. Basically every line has meaning in some way. No wasted dialogue. Acting is top notch by everyone.
Hopkins is the perfect villain for this role.
Cant wait for E10 tbh

Yeah they present the events out of order to mislead the audience
Which also explains Dolores' weird hallucinations if you will. In current day shes on this journey by herself. But her journey on this trip gives her flashbacks of this trip with william
Like her seeing herself dead in the water. That was trippy because it alternated between 2 timelines twice in like 5 seconds. Shes on a journey with william and goes to the lake to get water (past), then sees herself dead (current remembering old self dead), looks back and william is gone (still current), then looks back and the water is empty again and william is still there (back to past memory).

Speaking of her dead in the lake. Im sure thats where she ran and died after being stabbed by Logan. What im curious about now is how the photograph ended up at the ranch and in her dads hands. Im guessing William goes back to find Dolores and she has zero recollection of him. and he drops the photograph there or something. Not sure. but we'll see since that photograph is extremely relevant 30 years later.

All the other posts are what I think also. At least 3 time lines.
A bit of a puzzle is why Ford had Bernard kill Emily...if he did, and if she is dead. What she was investigating would seem only to benefit Ford...there's something with that whole scenario.
Could be that Arnold is a surname, not a given name, too.
Opens up lots a possible paths to go down.

Does anyone agree that the first thing Trump should do ( or at least one of them) is to just not use his twitter account for about four years ( or so)...?
Seems like most of the stupid shit attributed to him comes from that source. Too immediate, without sufficient reflection on whatever he's tweeting about...maybe he feels the instantaneous reactions are what people want, but the campaign is over...i.e., flag burners should maybe get revoked citizenship or one yr. jail time. It is guaranteed by the constitution. Knee jerk reaction are what people are afraid of most from him, I think.
Too unnerving for most.
I think people want a well thought out response that takes all aspects in consideration.

 

I think the Twitter account should go. A lot of the worry with Trump is about people being unsure what he will do. The knee-jerk reactions of a Twitter account can do nothing but hurt.

 

Trump also complained about SNL making fun of him AFTER the election by claiming they were not giving EQUAL TIME. He just says dumb things.

But he's a controlling business owner and people want him to lead the country like he does his businesses - which by definition leans fascist.
