I guess it wouldn't be a stretch to say that Mexican fireworks production and safety do not always go hand in hand.
    Damn.

Every time I see an Assassin's Creed preview I throw up a little. I can't help but feel like they butchered it. But I guess that's always the fear, and it's not like Hollywood has a great track record of adapting video games to the big screen.

    I miss Desmond. :sulk:

I have never played an assasins creed game but even to me it looks butchered.
I get the same cringe when i watch the trailers. Fassbender makes me cringe in this for some reason.

You'd probably enjoy the plots of the game - some sic-fi with lots of historical and religious/spiritual themes told in a confusing manner.

To be fair, I haven't seen the movie... but so many things look wrong in the preview that I don't even want to list them. I don't know if the story really lends itself to a great movie (even though at first it feels like the game would make a great movie), but the potential for something epic may be there. This movie looks anything but epic. More like a Matrix clone than a movie based on one of the best video game series ever.

I know i would like the game. It is right up my alley.
I just havent played games in like 10 years.
I worked for a video game company down in your county recently and I had to mess with games daily.
Personally though i just never have time.
I finally got around to making time for some TV.
Been watching the The Last Kingdom which is like Vikings but more historically accurate in some ways.
I love games dont get me wrong, just not really playing them anymore.
I much rather play games in my head. One of my favorite pastimes is to create mechanics, characters and scenarios for games.
Working on one right now that im calling Precious Loot.
Its kind of like a sports management sim game where you dont actually 'play' in the traditional sense but create a team and then it 'plays while you just watch the results once the season is over.
This would sim a quest of your adventurer or something like that.
Its an excuse to get people to buy swords and other gear im selling.
You would create a character and pick a type of quest.
Then you have to outfit your character.
Buy a Sword for your warrior, Potions for your Mage, Dagger for your Rogue, etc...
What you buy would cost real money. What you buy gets delivered to you by Fed Ex.
The more expensive the item the better it performs in the game, generally.
Free items for players that buy enough gear to advance in levels and get to the loot dropping 'boss' quests.
The game would basically be a store to buy stuff I sell with a browser based sim game as an enticement.
But possibly tied to a forum where their character can be their avatar and show their gear, class, level, etc...
I have been wanting to marry forum/social media to a RPG for the past 20 years.
And making it into a glorified store might be the key.
Of course you gotta have some cash to play.

So you're like your own amiibo meets cosplay character? As you upgrade yourself, your in-game character also gets upgraded?

I missed the whole PS3 phase, so picked up the series with Black Flag. Absolutely loved it, even got 100% completion. Tried to play the next one in Paris, then never played another one. It sucked, and essentially was the same game without the marine battles.

Black Flag is great. It's really the anomaly in the series though. I've never played Unity, but have heard nothing but bad reviews. My favorite ones are the ACII series/Ezio games (ACII, Brotherhood, and Revelations), but they might feel more like Unity to you. No boats.

If you like Black Flag and want more of it, Rogue is essentially the same game but you play as a Templar.

Anyone talked about Black Mirror yet? Started watching season three first on Netflix. The first episode was pretty out there, but some really good stories getting told the rest of the season. The one with the kid beating off was captivating (not even joking btw.)

Prayers for Princess Leia aka Carrie Fisher in the ICU after a massive coronary coming back from the Graham Norton Show appearance.

By the way a pretty funny show I recommend.

Just saw her CGI'd face at the end of Rogue One, got in my car, and the first thing on the radio was this nasty report about her coronary...damn.
She is only 60, looks older, I thought. All that blow for years will beat you down.

Plus she's been known as a lady who likes her cocktails.

Update: Stable condition according to her brother.
