RIP Alan Thicke, remember watching Growing Pains in the 80's it was pretty decent TV. RIP.

 

Yeah, they used to re-run Growing Pains on Nick@Nite and also the Disney Channel during after school hours in the late 90s-early 2000s. Really liked him in that show. RIP.

so you guys know i sold the lair but i learned something yesterday that shocked the shit out of me
as anyone who runs business in LA knows garcetti is a mini mobster and the city is fully ramping up its tax/permits/regulation business rip off parade
but i couldn't believe the new owners telling me that they couldn't get a contract w trash company i used (crown disposal)
when i asked why he told me the city has decided it will be taking over all the commercial collections now
and the existing waste companies will be able to bid on the accounts!
thats some mobster shit right there although i'm sure some of the socialists here will say its righteous
i know crown was sold last year to a nocal company called recology so they must have had the inside skinny on the situation
imagine recology is fucking pissed and this just doesn't sound legal at all
but since win does that matter if it involves the city, state or federal government?
they didn't build that

I really don't know how these guys (blf, Chris, etc) who were such frequent posters can just leave. Man like I hardly post but I read this shit multiple times a day, everyday. I'm sure they were the same but actually posted. Just don't know how all of a sudden you stop and forget about it esp when the core of this site has remained relatively the same throughout the years

 

That's me! I changed my name because I love the community especially during the season, but my username was basically the first part of my email at the time and the profession I intend to get into (law) doesn't allow for any online shenanigans, so I've always tried to keep an eye on my electronic footprint so to speak. But anyway I do appreciate the concern.

Funny you brought him up. I randomly ran into him at this local brewery by my house last Saturday.

I know in his case he started scouting for the Dodgers, so I think there were some legal reasons as to why he doesn't post anymore. He did say that he still lurks DSP though.

He's currently in the process of applying for a job with the Cardinals and Rays.

Lol ironically I messaged him earlier today too. I had reached out to him earlier this year and he mentioned that he just needed time away from here. Too much drama at that time
He's good though. Like most, misses the place but not the environment i guess

 

BLF messaged me several times before leaving. He likes it here but was having trouble posting without several posters getting on his case. It would have been all well and good if he could have ignored it, but he gets caught up in it. He knew part of it was his fault getting caught up in feuding, so he felt like he had to leave completely to get away from it. I'm not sure if we will see him back.

 

Finally lost his fight with cancer. Craig Sager you inspired millions now the pain is gone RIP.
