damn right. the coaching staff is made up of so many former players right now that i think they'll be fine if mentored by that many guys who've done it before. and that's before considering Woodson and Tuck as leaders and having Mack as an example.

 

fwiw, this is my mock draft for the silv n black without predicting any trades or anything like that -

1. WR – Amari Cooper – Bama
2. DE/OLB – Eli Harold – UVA
3. G – Tre’ Jackson – FSU
4. DE – Za’Darious Smith – Kentucky
5. RB – Buck Allen – USC
6. CB – Justin Coleman – Tennessee
7. DT – Christian Covington – Rice

thought about getting a tight end in there, but they still have interest in signing Gresham and signing Gresham would give them Gresham/Rivera/L. Smith and that's enough. i'm sure they'll carry another, though..Leonhardt who played well last year.

 

this is what you risk if you draft Randy Gregory because he's now in the NFL's drug program and subject to random tests. not sure if Shane Ray is gonna be in the drug program now or not..not really sure if a pot arrest gets you in..

but you can smoke weed in the NFL..they only test those that aren't in the drug program once a year and it's usually before the season and they're all warned ahead of time. that's how Aaron Hernandez slipped through. all his failed weed tests were at Florida. the program is made to catch those fools who can't stop smoking even when they know the test is coming..those fools that have a real problem.

Not saying this because I am a USC fan, but I think Buck is going to really surprise people in the league. He is a stud.

 

He's got some talent. Good size. Needs to run with lower pad level and fight a little more after contact, but he has natural ability and good hands. I'd take him as high as the 4th round, but hopefully he'll be there at the top of the 5th round.

If they take Leo Williams in the 1st round, hopefully Agholor will be there at the top of the 2nd round. They can have like a SC celebration and shit. Why not?

From everything I've seen/heard Agholor won't drop to the 2nd. If you're handling the Raiders' draft and Williams falls into your lap, do you pull the trigger on Green-Beckham at the top of round two?

 

I wouldn't. IMO, if you're taking a WR that high, you're talking about that guy eventually becoming the leader of your WR core and there's no way I want DGB being in a leadership position going forward.

I'd go ahead and draft an edge rusher like perhaps Eli Harold or Owa from UCLA in the 2nd round and look for a slot receiver in the 3rd or 4th round. Leo Williams and Harold/Owa would be huge up front with Mack.

Jaelen Strong..maybe. Perriman, perhaps. But not DGB.

 

i can see Mayweather losing this fight with a bunch of clinching. a fight as hyped as this? not only will the judges frown at it, but he'll lose in the court of public opinion as well. i mean Mayweather already doesn't throw a lot of punches..if he holds and holds AND isn't throwing enough as well..Manny is gonna outperform him.

but it's tough to clinch with a midget as it is, so we'll see. i think Manny is gonna operate from a safe distance anyway..Roach said that was one of his biggest points during camp..distance. to pressure without being in harm's way.

 

this would be a good draft, addressed our top 3 needs in the first 3 rounds.

I do myself like Buck Allen, but he might be similar to Helu Jr, it doesn't hurt to have depth though. I'd probably grab 2 WR's.

 

If DGB is there in Round 2, I'm all over that guy. No doubt about it.
