Yeah, I like his game and potential a lot. Knicks should be targetting him at #4. I think Lakers will go with Towns-Russell.

ty lord..we basically have TWO lotto picks this year since Randle gave us little to nothing before going down.

AND we still have the 27th overall pick of the 1st round thanks to the Lin trade. hell, they made good on the Clarkson pick and he was a taken almost 20 spots later than 27th. they might find a Tyus Jones @ #27 if the plan is to go with a big man early. at least one early mock has Tyus Jones falling to the #25 http://www.nbadraft.net/2015mock_draft

Ahahahahahahahahahaha it was fucking epic getting the #2 pick, I was nervous as hell watching the whole thing. I really thought we were going to end up with the 5th pick.

I'm ok with any of the Top 5 guys being selected really, but I think I like Okafor a smidge more than the rest. However it seems Okafor might go #1 as the Wolves are like the only team that favors him over Towns (go figure) but I wouldn't be mad with Towns, Mudiay, Russell, or hell even Winslow.

I think getting the big time center is the thing that's most likely to happen and I agree with that strategy for the most part. But part of me also thinks it makes sense to pair a young point guard (Mudiay) with the young forward in Randle, but either seems nice.

I'm taking Russel or Mudiay over Okafor if we don't get Towns. Okafor and Randle in the frontcourt is a disaster defensively.

In all reality, he gave us not little to nothing, but nothing because he broke his own leg in the first game. That injury kind of worries me because it makes me wonder if his bones are fragile considering how little contact it took to break it.

Randle gave us like 10 minutes last season... I would definitely classify that as nothing. Lol

Low key this redshirt your top pick and tank again is a smart idea. You get to pair 2 top players and within a few years can be a legitimate playoff team if you hit on your picks. Philly is a prime example and Sam hinkie is just loading up on talent. Next year if they suck they'll have their own pick and likely the Lakers and heats pick. Basically follow the okc route. Thing is you need elite talent and sometimes the drop off from like 2-3 or 1-2 is substantial. Look at 2012 everyone in that draft besides Davis and dame sucks. 2013 basically ain't nobody gonna be a star. If the bucks were more shitty before and after Jabari's injury they could be pairing him with jahlil. That's a great foundation but ain't nobody trying to play in Milwaukee either

I doubt randle is gonna be a game changer. A solid contributor perhaps but I'm not expecting 20 pts 12 Rebs at all in his career. Probably 14 ppg 10 rebounds.

Okafor perhaps 23 ppg 12 rpg
    Towns 26 ppg 12 rpg 4 apg 3 bpg
Basically fill up the stat sheet like Anthony Davis Blake griffin style

if healthy, Randle will be what Odom never had the dedication to be and that's an all-star. he's got too much skill for a guy with his strength and he's got the make up to push for those heights. they only make so many 6'9''+ PFs that can rebound, push the ball coast to coast and finish successfully. putting Towns behind him defensively would be huge because defense is one of the reasons why he won't be dominant.

Towns/Randle at their best could be a suped up version of Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph. i just love the fact that all this young talent is gonna be crazy cheap when Kobe's about to expire and the cap line set to skyrocket. they could be extremely deep in a few years.

    meh, fwiw...

Would you trade LaMarcus Aldridge to theLakers for the #2 pick?
    by lightskin350 | SB Nation — 2 hours ago

I did not bother to bring the Wolves into this conversation because there is no way in hell LA would green light a trade to snowy ass Minnesotta. The Wolves have a great young core but are several seasons away from contending for a title and LA is in win now mode. The Lakers to are not close to winning a ring BUT a healthy Kobe plus LA really elevates that team and depending on what else they can add namely a point guard no team in the west would want to be in a 7 game series with the Lakers led by a healthy Kobe and LaMarcus Aldridge. Bryant is getting up there age wise but the Mamba can still get it done on both ends at a high level. Could the Lakers convince Aldridge to come is the big question? They would have to roll out the red carpet of course but playing in La La land by itself has a lot to offer on the court and off. Playing in Los Angeles would also allow LaMarcus to cash in on more off the court things that Portland simply cant offer.

Why would the Blazers make this trade? That's easy.......Jahlil Okafor. If the Wolves are smart (and thats a big if) they draft Karl-Anthony Towns to come in and help their defense. They were dead last in defensive efficiency this past season and Towns is by far the best defensive player in this draft. He isn't Anthony Davis but who is? He is a elite defensive center and the Wolves would be foolish to draft anyone else. I got the chance to see Okafor in person this season and I was very impressed with his skill set and overall game. I hate comparing players but Okafor plays just like a young Tim Duncan in his Wake Forest days.

The very first thing you notice is just how big Okafor is. He is a legit 275lb with a 7'5 wingspan with these huge massive hands. Despite being as big as he is he moves like a much smaller player. Okafor would fit like a glove in Terry Stotts offense. There is absolutely nothing that Okafor can't do on the offensive end of the floor, he can of course score but he is also a willing passer and doesn't have a selfish bone in him. Coach K wanted the kid to be a little more selfish but once he gets older he will learn when to turn it on and off. It just takes more time. I think I read some where that this season at Duke Okafor converted 79% of the shots he took at the rim. There are some bigs starting in the league right now who couldn't hit that percentage of shots in practice playing alone. He did all this while playing in the best conference in the country plus he has a great basketball IQ to match. Okafor is going to be a great player, he has elite written all over him.

His one weakness is on the defensive end. I wouldn't call it a weakness but a area he needs to improve on. He isn't afraid of contact which is a great start considering just how physical the league is. The NBA game is mostly a bunch of pick and rolls and Okafor did struggle mightly this season defending the PNR but to his crediit he has the size, strength and mobility to fix this flaw with some good NBA coaching. I want to finish by saying I prefer too bring back LA and retool this Blazer team but NO has to at least make a phone call and see if the Lakers would be interested which I bet they would. Kobe badly wants another ring before he retires. If NO can't convince Aldridge to come back to Rip City the franchise can't just let him walk and get no compensation. That would cripple this franchise. Yes you lose a top 10 player but you get a great young building block to pair with Dame. Losing LA would mean the team is in complete rebuild mode so there would be no point in bringing back Wes and Rolo. You let Nico play out his contract next year and get a huge chunk of capspace to play with which should help the Blazers speed up the rebuild.
